Several businesses along Government Road are threatened by high water levels from the Souris River, after heavy rains caused a state of emergency in Weyburn on Friday. City residents were called on to not use sump pumps, to collect drinking water, and boil city water after an electrical failure at the city's waste water treatment plant. The city received approximately four inches of rainfall in 24 hours, and it taxed the city's infrastructure to its limits.
