Friday, Dec. 7, saw youth flock to the Wawota Forum after school. There they were able to begin skating and going for sleigh rides. In addition the Student Council from the school provided chips and juice before supper was served.

The event was put on by the Wawota Business Enhancement Group. Don Cameron of Kennedy was hired to hold the sleigh rides and was very busy all evening.

The ice was covered by skaters of a variety of ages, many parents enjoying time with their kids.

The Wawota Business Enhancement Group also had hotdogs available for everyone at the Forum free of charge.

It is something they do every year where they are able to get kids and their families to come together for a great amount of fun.

A special guest arrived at 6 p.m.

"SANTA!" Kids screamed as he walked into the rink. He was followed upstairs by a very large line of eager young people waiting to get their photo with the jolly man and tell him what they wanted for Christmas.

The complimentary pictures were taken by Evelyn Peterson this year. Usually the ladies at the Credit Union take the photos, but this year they were unable to, so Peterson, who used to work in a studio in Regina, offered her services.

"He [Santa] was pretty busy, but we got him booked," said Garry Dickson.

Which the kids were very pleased with as giant smiles lined the long queue waiting to see Santa.
