The Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP responded to a total of 62 calls over the week of July 13-19. Certain cases involving mental health issues or other undisclosed matters cannot be reported. Calls begain on the 13th with a call regarding an assault east of Redvers. An argument had erupted between the fostering parents of a girl who wanted to leave. Members attended and helped the family make arrangements for the girl to return to her previous home.
A complaint followed from a male who said he was getting calls from an unknown number. He said that the person phoning kept calling and hanging up. He called the number back no one was picking up. A member called the person and spoke to an elderly gentleman who said his wife had been attempting to use the phone. The complainant was updated.
A complaint of an erratic driver was reported. An unknown male was swerving into the complainant's lane, possibly trying to cause a collision. The member made a patrol but the vehicle was gone. A be on the look out was sent to the Broadview detachment.
A report of a collision came in. The complainant had been driving from White Bear the night previously, when her and her daughter were in a car and hit a deer. There were no injuries.
A local business owner called to report a male that had driven away without paying for gas. When the member called the person the vehicle was registered to, the owner paid their bill and explained that they had been having trouble with the payment and couldn't get the pumps to work.
A missing person was reported during the afternoon of the 13th. One of his co workers explained that he had not talked to the missing employee for seven days and that the man had left a note saying he'd be back within two days. The matter is still under investigation.
A suspicious person walking on the road was reported near the casino. Matter is not yet updated.
A call from a local person in Carlyle came in stating that a young boy had become trapped in the post office when it automatically locked at 9 p.m. The member responded with a postal worker and freed the boy, returning him home safely.
A member performed three curfew checks, none of the people were home and charges are pending on all cases
Calls on the 14th took an early start as members responded to a call regarding a sick dog on someones lawn. The dog was taken to the Arcola pound where it is pending someone claiming the dog or having the dog put down.
A caller phoned on behalf of her son who had someone continuously knocking on his door. When the member responded the person had gone, and the complainant did not want to press any charges.
A report of a hit and run collision was called in. The complainant had their car hit in Carlyle with serious damages. This incident is still under investigation.
A local business owner reported they had 20-30 pieces of tin siding stolen from their yard. They believed it had happened the previous night, it was reported for informational purposes only. There are currently no suspects.
A complaint of an erratic driver tailgating the complainant and all over the road was reported. There are currently no leads.
Shortly after a complaint of another erratic driver was reported along highway-9 . The vehicle had almost ran the complainant off the road causing the caller to believe the driver was intoxicated. When members reached the suspects vehicle, it turned out the driver was sober and he advised members that his friend was misbehaving in the back seat, causing his poor driving. He was given a warning.
A driver called reporting that the trailer he was pulling was causing smoke and that he noticed that the break lines were off causing fire in the tires. The fire department was on scene and distinguished the fire.
A suspicious vehicle was reported leaving the Moose Head bar. The complainant thought the suspect was walking but then saw them drive by clearly intoxicated. Members responded and found the vehicle at a camp site, though both adults were drinking, they both claimed they were not driving. Keys were taken and returned the following morning.
Reports of a female who had hit the ditch east of Redvers were phoned in. The driver was very intoxicated and the witness did not know how long she'd been there, taking notice that the driver also had a knife. Members attended and the woman was returned home to her family and to seek medical attention. Charges are pending.
A driver was stopped in Manor and arrested for impaired driving. Vehicle was seized and impounded. The driver was charged.
On the 15th the detachment received a 911 call from a residence where the operator could hear a man and woman arguing in the background. Members attended and the people arguing had left.
A second 911 call that ended up being a static line came through next. The phone was off the hook and there was no sign of anything wrong at the house after members patrolled.
The conservation officer called about a noise complaint at the park. Several criminal code charges and park bylaw charges were made. Members were just there to assist.
A 911 call which was a static line, lead a member to phone to check the phone lines, Sasktel informed the member that it was a troubled line. Member patrolled but saw no signs of distress.
A local person reported a stolen truck. The caller knew the person who stole it. She had bought the truck for him to use under the condition that he would pay her monthly payments. It turned out the truck was not stolen and that it was a civil matter. A member phoned to explain the same to the person who had apparently stolen it and the complainant was updated.
A report that a complainant had wired 3,000 dollars to the United Kingdom for a mustang he had found on AutoTrader was phoned in to RCMP. The complainant was told the car would arrive in a few days. He thought this did not sound legit so he reported it. The matter is still being investigated.
The detachment received a call about an intoxicated male who was fighting with his girlfriend, when members made patrol the male was gone and no charges were laid.
A complainant advised members that someone in their residence was intoxicated and talking crazy. The complainant was afraid the person would harm themselves. Members attended.
The detachment received a complaint of an intoxicated driver near Kisbey. The member called the registered owner of the vehicle and spoke to her about her driving.
A complainant called for advice about a family matter. The matter involved bullying between two young girls. The member assisted by instructing the girls parents to get together with the other girls family to discuss the matter, and that if any physical violence occurred to not fight back as she could also be at fault.
A complainant called to say she was receiving threatening text messages from her father. When the texts were revealed there were no direct threats and were not from her fathers phone. She was worried her father would take her son from her, as they do not get along. The matter wasn't criminal in nature, and was civil. She was advised to speak to a lawyer.
A false alarm to a business in Redvers occurred. Members did not attend as there had been several false alarms at this location before. The members spoke to the property owner who said it was probably the storm that set off the system. A letter was sent to have the system inspected before members would respond to alarms at that location again.
A 911 hang up call came in with nothing further said. Member attended and took a statement from the complainant who said her son had threatened her and said he would damage her house, she wanted the person removed from the house. Charges are pending.
A 911 call came in from a nurse at the Arcola hospital saying that a patient was very agitated and they were concerned about her safety. Members attended and spoke with the doctor. When member attended she had left and a "be on the lookout" was sent out to detachments all the way to Regina as she was suspected to be impaired.
While on patrol a member stopped a vehicle because the driver failed to wear their seatbelt, it was quickly found out that the driver had an invalid license and was ticketed. The vehicle showed an impound flag and was seized for 30 days.
A complaint of a missing wallet was reported in Carlyle. It was reported for informational purposes. If someone finds it they are asked to turn it in.
A request for police assistance was called in as someone had seen three boys ages eight and nine driving around the ditches unattended. The complainant was concerned for their safety. Member called the complainant back and made a patrol but the boys were already gone.
A business in Wawota had a very intoxicated male in their office who was rude and threatening the employees. The male had left the business in a vehicle and they weren't sure which way he had gone. No update has been made thus far.
At 6 p.m. an impaired driver was reported. The complainant had seen the unlicensed driver driving around very fast and knew the driver was intoxicated. Member made a patrol but the car was not located.
An erratic driver was reported later that evening. The vehicle was not located as the plates given were not in the system.
Calls on the 18th began with a complaint of a male trying to fight his daughter. The worried mother had made the call from Carlyle. The man was very intoxicated. When the member attended the male was gone and the daughter was asked to give a statement the next morning.
Three people failed to appear for court. One was for a ticket, while the other two were for criminal code violations. There are warrants out for their arrest.
At 10:15 a.m. there was complaint from a business owner in Kenosee who said a group of intoxicated young men were in her store being rude and swearing at her. She gave a description of the vehicle. Members attended. The driver of the vehicle was arrested and taken to the detachment and charged with impaired driving and for having open liquor in his vehicle. His license was suspended for 24 hours.
The passenger of the vehicle had run from police and was reported walking on the highway, police attended and the man was arrested, and identified as someone who was under a conditional sentencing in Yorkton. He was transported back to Yorkton to have his charges dealt with.
An individual was served by Carlyle RCMP on behalf of the prosecutions office in Regina.
A report from someone came in about two individuals who were spreading lies about the complainant and their business on Facebook and other social networking websites. They were accused of taking money from them. The matter is still under investigation.
A report followed of two males sitting outside the liquor store in a truck. They were very intoxicated and falling out of their vehicle onto the road. Members attended, the vehicle was located and the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving, which was not their first offence.
A complaint from a local parent was reporting that her son was hit by another child and threatened was phoned in. The father of the child who had been hit went to the older brother's work place and threatened him. Charges are pending regarding the threats.
At 8 p.m. the detachment received a call to a residence where an intoxicated unwanted male was running around throwing rocks. He made threats about killing himself which were proven unserious. Members arrested the man after he ran from them and he was lodged in cells.
The morning of the 19th, a female driver was reported to be speeding in the 80 km zone at White Bear First Nations. The driver had given the complainant the finger as she passed. Not enough info was given to determine who the registered owner of the vehicle was.
A call to a residence via 911 proved that one of the people in the residence was fighting with their brother. There was alcohol involved but no weapons or injuries were discovered. Members attended but the disruptive family member was gone.
A complaint from someone calling to say a neighbour had been speeding past their residence came in during the afternoon. The complainant feared someone would be hurt as their neighbour had done this several times and already been warned. A member responded and spoke to the driver to warn her to keep her speed down.
The week ended with a complaint that a person he knew without a driver's license would be driving at a specific time of the day. No updates thus far.
