The Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP responded to a total of 76 calls between May 11 and May 17.
A report of a suspicious person began the reports on the 11th of May.
Members attended the area where the call originated, and discovered an intoxicated female passed-out in a roadside ditch near the community of Manor.
EMS attended and announced there were no immediate health issues, so the woman was driven to her residence and released into the care of her mother.
A 90-day suspension was issued to a 16-year-old female driver.
A complaint of a loud group of children was received from the community of Kisbey.
The complainant reported a large group of youths making a lot of noise after 10 p.m. within the town.
Members patrolled but were unable to find the youths.
A call from the area was received reporting a large group of persons gathering to watch a fight between two females.
Members attended the scene, however no one was found.
Members provided advice to an individual who contacted the detachment regarding a domestic dispute.
Members spoke with the caller and determined the issue was not a police matter.
Members encouraged both parties to dialogue about the problem and come to a compromise solution.
May 12 calls began with a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Highway 9, north of Carlyle.
Members patrolled the area, but were unable to find the vehicle in question.
A series of nine tickets were issued through the day, most for speeding.
A 34-year-old male driver was ticketed for failing to stop at a stop sign in Redvers, an offense that carried a $230 fine.
A 33-year-old male was caught on radar travelling at 30 kmph over the limit on Highway 13 near Manor, leading to a ticket in the amount of $150.
After being seen failing to stop at a stop sign in Carlyle, a 42-year-old male was issued a citation for $230.
The remaining tickets were all issued on Highway 9, north of Carlyle, for speeding beyond the posted 80 kmph speed.
A 49-year-old man was ticketed $130 for being 20 kmph over the limit.
A 21-year-old male was ticketed $130 as well.
An 18-year-old male was ticketed $188 for traveling at 34 kmph over the limit.
A 41-year-old male is facing a $130 ticket for travelling 20 over.
A 30-year-old male and a 24-year-old male have both been ticketed $130 for travelling 20kmph over.
A complaint was received regarding a large group of youths making noise in the town of Kisbey.
A similar complaint had been lodged the previous evening, with similar subjects described.
Members attended and located a large group of people, who were disbursed.
Two of the group, a 20-year-old male and a 22-year-old male, were both taken into custody for open alcohol, as well as breach of undertaking charges.
An impaired driver was reported on Highway 9 near Carlyle.
Members patrolled and located the suspect vehicle.
The driver failed a roadside screening and was taken back to the detachment for a breath analyzer.
Both tests were blown over the 0.8 threshold, and the 51-year-old female now stands charged with impaired operation, and operation of a motor vehicle over 0.8.
May 13th, the first call of the day was in reference to a single-vehicle MVC.
The vehicle rolled-over and ended up partly submerged in a roadside slough.
All passengers and the driver were able to exit the vehicle, and no injuries were reported.
The driver reported that he had swerved to avoid an animal on the highway, and lost control as a result.
A call was received regarding a vehicle vs. moose impact on Highway 13 near Arcola.
The incident prompted a number of calls to the detachment.
Members attended and found that the driver and five passengers were essentially unharmed, though the driver did complain of a sore wrist.
The moose was killed in the impact.
A report of threats was received from the community of Wawota.
The complainant, who had formerly been in a relationship with the subject of the complaint, forwarded the messages onto police. Examining the material, members determined nothing was stated that fit the criminal code definition of a threat.
Nonetheless, members contacted the subject of the complaint and issued a verbal warning.
A request to locate a missing person was received by the detachment.
The person had been missing for a period of two days.
Members managed to locate the individual, and the person returned home later in the day.
A power brown-out in Carlyle led to a false alarm sounding at a business in that community.
A 911 call was received regarding a person who was in an inebriated state, and was passing out at a residence.
Members attended, however the individual had left.
May 14th calls began with a complaint of harassment.
The complainant stated to police that they had seen a former romantic partner in the parking lot of a business in the area.
When the subject spotted the complainant, the caller reported that the subject swore at them, and then swerved their vehicle towards the complainant.
Members are investigating.
A call reporting a dog attack was received from Kisbey.
The complainant stated that their child had been bitten by the dog while walking home.
An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
Two calls were received regarding an act of mischief in the area.
Members were contacted by complainant and informed that an individual had broken windows in their garage, as well as on a motor vehicle.
Patrolling the area, members located the subject of the complaint.
The investigation into the matter continues.
A complaint about speeders in the town of Carlyle was received.
The complainant stated that a white Dodge truck with snowmobiles on a trailer in back had 'blasted' by them, and further complained that speeding was an ongoing problem.
A member patrolled the area, and tickets were issued to several drivers, however the subject of the initial complaint was not located.
A call came from the community of Redvers complaining of an abandoned vehicle at a business in the town.
The vehicle, a truck, had no plates, and was missing a tire.
It was reported to have been in the lot for three weeks.
The matter is under investigation at this time.
May 15 calls began with a small child misdialling 911.
A 911 call was received requesting EMS and police services.
The caller informed members that an individual had been injured in an act of assault that had occurred.
The victim was transported to Arcola Health Centre for care, and a suspect in the case has been identified.
The investigation is ongoing.
A call reporting an unwanted person at a residence in the area led to an arrest being made.
Members, who were initially unable to attend due to their involvement with the aforementioned assault report, arrived at the residence in question and found the subject of the complaint passed out in the yard of the residence.
Upon initial investigation, members determined that the individual was wanted on warrants, and so took the individual into custody.
The person was also ticketed for public intoxication.
Members provided assistance to the Regina Police Service.
A complainant from a hit-and-run report that had been filed in Regina had their statements taken at the Carlyle Detachment, and the information was forwarded to RPS for their investigation.
A report was made of a theft of a payloader from an industrial site.
The vehicle, which had disappeared some time after road bans had been put into place, was later found by a helicopter semi-submerged in a slough a few miles from where it had disappeared.
The investigation is ongoing.
Reports on the 16th of May began with a request to assist RPS on serving of warrants.
Members located the individual, who was placed under arrest and transported to Regina to be remanded.
A warrant was issued for a 22-year-old female for failure to appear at a scheduled court date.
An individual attended the detachment to obtain a criminal records background check.
Fingerprints of the individual were also taken.
A report was filed regarding a white Dodge truck that was apparently abandoned at a business in Carlyle.
The truck, which had snowmobiles in the back, was parked in a lot for three days.
A hit-and-run was reported at a business parking lot in Carlyle.
The matter is under investigation.
A 911 call was received regarding a roll-over on Highway 13, near Forget.
The driver, a 20-year-old male, was ejected from the vehicle during the event, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
Members were summoned to the Viterra elevator in Redvers due to an industrial accident.
The injured person, a 35-year-old male who worked at the site, was trapped inside the upper area of the elevator.
A crane and specialty rescue personnel, who happened to be training in Estevan that day, were summoned to assist with removing the injured man from the building.
Following the success extraction of the man, he was airlifted by the STARS air ambulance service to Regina for treatment.
Occupational Health and Safety is following up on the incident.
Call on May 17 began with a report of a suspicious vehicle in the RM of Brock.
The vehicle was reported to be sitting still, however occupants were observed acting oddly.
The caller was concerned due to previous fuel thefts in the area.
The matter is under investigation.
A report of an assault in the area led to the arrest of a 35-year-old male.
The suspect was charged with assault, as well as breach of recognisance.
A report of harassment at a business in Carlyle drew members to the location.
At the scene, members took statements from both the complainant and the witness to the event.
Members attended the suspect's residence and a female 20-year-old now faces charges related to the matter.
Finally, a report was received regarding a pick-up truck which, when approach a vehicle that had slowed to make a left-hand turn, passed to the left of the vehicle, narrowly avoiding a collision.
The matter is under investigation.
