A total of 62 calls for the week of Aug.10 through Aug.16 came to the Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP. Issues regarding mental health issues are not reported, nor are matters that will affect further investigations.

Calls on Aug. 10 began with an investigation of an assault that occurred in the area. This is still under investigation.

A report of a vehicle driving around on the dirt bike tracks in Carlyle was phoned in. The complainant thought it was possibly a white 4x4 pick up truck driving recklessly. The vehicle was gone on arrival. Patrols were made but the vehicle was not located.

A noise complaint came in from Manor. A small group of kids was asked to quiet down by the complainant but did not comply. Their music was extremely loud. A member made patrols and shut down the party. No further calls were received.

A false alarm at a business in Carlyle was phoned in. When members made their investigation, the building was secure and all was well. It is unknown what set off the system.

A probation officer reported a 26-year-old male breaching this curfew by failing to report. Charges have been laid for failing to report to the police. A second complaint came in from the probation officer reporting a 38-year-old male breaching his probation order by failing to complete his community service hours. He will have to appear in court.

A black Chevrolet truck was reported abandoned on the side of the road for two weeks. The truck was located by members; contact with the owner continues to fail. No damage has occurred to the truck thus far, but it is feared if the owner does not return soon this will happen.

Members began patrols on the 11th with a roadside stop. The members found a 52-year-old male smelling of alcohol and showing signs on impairment. A roadside safety device was used, and the man registered a fail reading. The suspect was arrested and brought back to the detachment to conduct a breathalyzer test, where he blew over the legal limit of 0.08. He was released on a promise to appear in court and was charged with driving while impaired, and driving while having a blood alcohol level of over 0.08.

Members received a phone call from an individual in the area who was stranded. The member gave him a ride back to his residence.

A 911 call was received regarding a car on fire which had hit a house in Redvers. Members attended to find the owner's truck had caught on fire and rolled down an incline onto a neighbor's property. No other property was damaged, but the truck was a total loss. The fire is suspected of occurring due to electrical issues, and is not suspicious.

Police were called several times regarding an intoxicated female walking on the side of and down the center of the highway. The callers feared she would get injured and wanted police to pick her up. After multiple patrols the woman was not located.

A tip was received regarding a possible impaired driver who was about to leave a residence in Kenosee. A vehicle description was provided. It was a four door with four occupants whom had been drinking all day. The caller asked police to keep an eye out for the vehicle. The member made patrols but was unable to locate said vehicle on the roadway.

A 911 call was received regarding a fire notification. The Canadian National Resources building in Oxbow was said to be the building of discussion. It turned out to actually be an oil rig on fire near Alameda. A battery site was truck by lightening, and the workers informed police that there was no risk to the surrounding area. The workers stayed on site to observe the situation.

A call in regards to threats on Facebook was received. The member dealt with the issue by speaking to both parties. No charges were laid.

An individual who was on a condition with a curfew, phoned members to inform that he was having heart pain and phoning an ambulance.

A 911 call followed regarding an intoxicated person who was at the complainant's residence. A member located the subject of the complaint outside the residence in a vehicle. The member attempted to take the girl home to her parents, but because of her attitude the parents did not want her at home. She was taken to the detachment to sober up. The girl was only 14-years-old.

Calls on the 12th began with a complaint that someone had loaned his girlfriend a car and cell phone and she was refusing to give them back to him. Subject of the complaint has been gone for over a month. Due to the fact that the property was lent to his common-law partner, the complainant must go through courts to get his items returned.

A complaint was received about criminal harassment occurring in the area. Under further investigation no criminal harassment had happened. Someone wanted to be friends with someone who did not want to be friends with them.

A complaint of a suspicious person was reported. There were approximately four teenagers hanging out on the streets of Kisbey. The complainant suspected they may be up to no good, as his car had just been broken into a few days prior. Members made patrol and located the subjects of the complaint, informing them to go home because Kisbey has an 11:00 p.m. curfew for minors in place. The subjects complied.

There was a request to locate a female in the area. The mother had not seen her daughter all day. The complainant was just wondering if the police had her daughter at the department. Police advised the woman that they did not have her daughter.

A complainant advised the RCMP that his work laptop was stolen from his vehicle in Kisbey the night before. There did not appear to be any damage to the vehicle, therefore the complainant was unaware of how the thieves got in. He advised the member that this was the second time in two weeks that this has happened. He advised the member that he went to sleep at two a.m. and woke up at six a.m. and never heard a thing. He also had $50/$60 in loonies and some tools taken. This has been occurring quite frequently in Kisbey lately, and the RCMP is investigating.

A complainant advised a member that her ex-boyfriend was in breach of a no contact clause. She also advised that the ex-boyfriend had her father's vehicle. The subject of the complaint was suspected to be intoxicated and high. He was also on a no alcohol clause. She informed the member that she allowed him to use the car to take her to an airport in Alberta, but now needs it back to catch a flight in Regina. The member advised her that because all the instances occurred in Alberta, she would have to deal with police there.

On the 13th the detachment received a 911 call from the Kisbey gas plant regarding a fire. Kisbey fire was already heading out. Members attended and found out that there had been a fire in the control station, but that everything was under control.

A Manor resident called to report that someone had pulled the air conditioning unit out of the window at his home. No damage and no entry was made. He just wanted members to make more patrols in the area.

A single vehicle accident occurred near Manor. The driver had not been paying attention and missed a yield sign and drove into a ditch. The complainant had bumped his nose on a steering wheel and was bleeding. Members attended to find that the vehicle was not drivable. They informed the driver to visit the detachment to provide a statement.

A 911 notification came in regarding a grain elevator fire. The fire was caused by work being done on the elevator. Workers were cutting down a ladder to be replaced when the sparks ignited the metal paneling.

Another 911 call came in regarding an intoxicated male driving a quad near Wawota.

Member called the complainant back and was advised that the subject of the complaint was now at his residence. She was advised that if she saw the person driving again to inform the RCMP as they could not do anything at this point.

There was a false alarm at a business in Carlyle. The alarm was cancelled by the key holder at the business.

A complaint was reported of a hit and run. The complainant informed members that it occurred while he was parked at the Carlyle Golf Course. There was damage to the passenger side door. No witness' or suspects. The incident was reported for SGI purposes.

A 911 call with regards to a semi vs pick up truck motor vehicle collision. There was some oil leaking but nothing serious. Carlyle ambulance and Alameda fire department attended. Members attended to find that the only person with injuries was surprisingly the driver of the semi. They were transported to Arcola hospital and charged with failing to stop at a stop sign.

Members were advised of an assault in the area. As a result a 34-year-old male was charged with assault with no weapon.

A 911 misdial began calls on the 14th. A business member in Carlyle was trying to call another business in Estevan and is unsure how he got connected to 911.

A complaint of criminal harassment was reported in the area. Both parties were actually at fault as they had been egging each other on. Member told both parties to stop talking to each other.

A complainant phoned police to inform them that he was feeling a bit down, and just wanted to speak to them. He said he had been drinking a bit earlier in the day but did not want to say if he was suicidal or not, and did not want to give his address. A member phoned the individual back, who informed them he was not suicidal and that he just wanted to talk because he was upset about how his wife speaks to him. He felt better after speaking to the member and will call back if he feels worse or suicidal.

Another call of harassment came in advising that an individual was harassing the complainant and her husband. The complainant wanted a member to speak to the other party about it. That matter is still continuing.

A complaint came in from the town of Carlyle regarding vehicles that had been abandoned in the museum parking lot. The owners were contacted as they were interfering with grass cutting. File has not yet been updated.

On the 15th someone reported a break and enter in their vehicle in Kisbey. The complainant's car had been parked unlocked behind her residence. A few things were stolen from her trunk as well as parts of her console. The matter is still under investigation.

A 911 call followed requesting aid for EMS in the area regarding a 44-year-old female. The reason was not given, but when members attended they found out the patient had taken an unknown quantity of pills and also drinking. Members attended Arcola hospital with the ambulance without incident and left. Members were called back to assist with transporting the patient to Regina.

A complaint of threats from an individual in the area. The complainant notified members that someone was going to take their daughter away. The threats were made through Facebook and still under investigation.

A female caller informed members that a 44-year-old female was intoxicated and looking for a ride home. Members informed her that they were tied up at the moment but would be able to come later on. Members made patrol but were unable to find the woman. A short time later the subject of the complaints daughter phoned the RCMP to notify them that her mother was home.

A call was received in regards to some unwanted people at a residence in the area. Members attended to find that the subject of the complaints were gone.

Someone reported witnessing a female Caucasian screaming at a boy approximately three-years-old, she then hit the child and threw him into an SUV. The matter is still under investigation.

A caller reported that a caller from Alberta phoned him regarding putting an ad in the Estevan paper. He paid the $250 bill, but had never seen the ad. Now the same lady was calling him under a different name asking for money. She said she was calling from Alberta but the display showed a local number. The ad had apparently been placed in a pamphlet. No actual fraud was committed.

A 911 call started the morning of the 16th off. A complainant's mirror had been knocked off by a semi in Redvers. The subject of the complaints vehicle had something sticking out of the wide load. It was either a boom or ladder. The matter has not yet been updated.

A carbon dioxide alarm was set off at a residence in Carlyle. After evacuating residents and neighbours, it was quickly discovered by an air test that an expired alarm was to blame. The fire department gave an all clear for everyone to return home, and replaced the alarm.

A complaint was made in regards to two parties with a long standing feud. The parties are now going forward with a peace bond to resolve the issue.

A speeding ticket was issued to a 24-year-old male going 140 km/hr in a 100 km zone. The fine was $200.

A 911 call in regards to a female giving the complainant the finger. There was no car description or plate number. Police informed the complainant that giving the finger was not really a criminal matter.

A 911 call regarding a female erratic driver was received. The subject of the complaint was talking on her cell phone and swerving. She had been blocking two lanes, almost causing several accidents. A patrol was made.

There was a false alarm at the Arcola School concluding the week's calls.
