In the week of Friday, March 23 to Thursday, March 29, the Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP responded to a total of 46 calls. Members found a peaceful resolution to the situation which began calls for the 23rd.

In the week of Friday, March 23 to Thursday, March 29, the Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP responded to a total of 46 calls.

A complaint of threats uttered through texting had been called into the detachment.

Investigating, members located the suspect, and after speaking with both the suspect and the complainant, the suspect issued apologies, and both parties agreed to let the matter lie.

A call was received reporting an intoxicated male lying on a roadside.

Members responded and discovered a 31-year-old male passed out in a ditch not far from the complainant reported location of the individual.

While checking the identity of the individual, members discovered warrants outstanding on the individual, and he was taken to cells for lodging.

The individual was released the following day with a fine for public intoxication in the amount of $200.

Members were requested to be present while two individuals, formerly in a relationship, met to exchange goods.

Members attended to ensure peace at the scene.

A complaint was received of an individual who had posed on Facebook holding a knife, a gun, and what appeared to be illegal narcotics.

Members are investigating.

A complaint of an erratic driver drew members to pull-over a vehicle on Highway 13, not far from Carlyle.

The driver, who was very elderly, was released without incident, however a request to carry out a license review with the individual was lodged with SGI.

Members carried out an interview with a young female in the area in relation to an event in Regina at the request of the Regina Police Service (RPS.)

A report of theft was lodged from workers with the RM of Wakaw.

A large banjo pump, which had been left at a worksite overnight, had gone missing by morning.

The pump is a 2-inch banjo pump, yellow and black in colour, mounted on a blue plywood base.

Members are investigating, and if you see the pump or have any information about it, please contact the Carlyle RCMP Detachment, or Crime Stoppers.

A 911 call originating from Redvers proved to be a false alarm, as the female caller informed the operator that she had misdialed the number.

A call back to the originating phone number confirmed the fact.

Members attended a situation in Kisbey involving an unwanted visitor in a residence.

When members arrived the complainant, who had sounded intoxicated on the phone, informed members the subject of the complaint had left.

A 911 hang up call started the day for members on the 24th.

Return calls to the number garnered no responses, and members attended the site, finding nothing amiss.

A report of a break-and-enter drew members to attend a residence in the area.

A PS3 video game console and games were taken in the event.

Members are investigating.

Charges of making a false statement are pending against two males following their report of a stolen vehicle.

The call led members to locate the supposedly lost vehicle in a ditch off-road.

The two, a 22-year-old and a 27-year-old males, had come to the station to make the report.

While interviewing the vehicle owner and supposed witness, members discovered inconsistencies in the story, and noted that one of the parties appeared to be inebriated.

Following further questioning, and a breathalizer test for one of the two, the truth came that the vehicle had been crashed by the driver, who then made the false theft report.

The individual who was intoxicated was also issued a 24-hour suspension from driving.

A 911 call was received, however only static was heard on the line.

The call, which originated from Kisbey, occurred during a thunderstorm.

The call was later identified as a technical issue related to the electrical storm.

The single call on the 25th came as a report of a single vehicle MVA off of Highway 13 near Carlyle.

The driver lost control of the vehicle, and it ended up in a roadside ditch.

There were no injuries, and no charges were laid.

March 26th began with a call for members to assist in removing an unwanted person from a residence in the area.

The subject of the complaint was intoxicated, and refused requests by the homeowner to move along.

En route, the complainant called back to inform member the subject had left the residence.

The case is considered closed.

A 911 call was received reporting a two-vehicle MVA near Kisbey.

A semi-truck had been rear-ended by a pick-up truck on the highway.

Members attended, as did EMS, with one injured person being transported to the Arcola Health Centre for treatment of their injuries.

Charges are pending at this time against the 29-year-old male driver of the pick-up.

An alarm drew members to the community of Kenosee Lake.

Arriving at the business, members were unable to find evidence of entry or missing items, despite the premises being insecure.

March 27th proved to be an extremely busy one for detachment members, with a total of 15 break-and-enters reported between that day, and the 28th, from cabins throughout the area.

In the interest of brevity, these individual reports will not be highlighted here.

The investigation into the multiple offences is ongoing.

A complaint of loud music drew members to a home in Carlyle.

The complainant, who contacted members just past four in the morning, reported extremely loud music and numerous persons at the residence.

Responding members found a party underway, and issued a copy of the municipal noise bylaw to the residents of the home.

Members received a request to locate a young female who had slipped out of her home at night.

Members were searching for the individual when contacted by the initial complainant, who reported that the missing person had returned to the home.

A case of criminal harassment is under investigation by members following a complaint from a business in Redvers.

The suspect in the alleged offence had been barred from the business, and had issued verbal threats following.

A second complaint was received regarding the party previously mentioned, again complaining of loud noise and music.

Members returned to the location, and found that the party had ended, and the lights in the residence were out.

A complaint about a vehicle blocking an alleyway in Arcola was the first call responded to by members on the 28th.

The complainant reported the tractor-trailer had been parked in an alleyway for some time, and wanted members to speak with the owner.

Members attempted to contact the owner, and left a message with them.

Members attended to a residence at the request of family members to check on an 81-year-old.

The family had been unable to contact the individual, and were concerned about their wellbeing as the individual had health issues.

The individual was found, and all was well.

An individual attended the detachment directly to deliver a driver's license they had discovered while in Estevan.

Estevan police were contacted.

Two calls were received reporting an intoxicated male walking along the highway drew members to Highway 9 near Carlyle.

The individual was located, arrested for public drunkenness, and lodged in cells until sober.

The 29th began with a call to assist a resident with two inebriated individuals in their home.

Members attended, and took one 23-year-old male into custody, lodging him in cells until sober.

A 911 call of two people fighting drew members to a home.

The fight ended up being a spousal dispute, and members separated the two for interviews.

There was no evidence of assault, and the two appeared calm.

The case is considered closed.

An intoxicated individual was reported walking along the road not far from Carlyle.

Members attended the scene, located the individual, and transported them home.

A speeding ticket in the amount of $218 was issued to a 22-year-old male.

The individual was clocked travelling at 149 kmph on a 100 kmph stretch of road.

A 911 call led to a four-hour standoff at a home in the area.

The call was initially received reporting fighting in a residence.

Several persons, including children, took the phone at different times to report on the matter.

The subject of the complaint, who was known to police, surrendered at the end when their mother, who had to be transported from Regina, managed to talk them out of the house.

Carlyle detachment members were joined during the standoff by two members of an RCMP roving team, as well as an RCMP Dog Master from Yorkton Detachment.

A report of a roll-over involving a semi truck was made at the detachment.

The event, which occurred on a grid road just north of Highway 361, led to no injuries.

No members were unable to attend the scene, as the majority of members were attending the stand-off reported previously.

A 911 call was received from a female reporting an intoxicated individual who was threatening to assault her father.

Members attended and discovered the 33-year-old male in question intoxicated at the scene.

The suspect was arrested for failure of an undertaking, and was lodged in cells overnight.

The individual was transported to Estevan the following day.
