The Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP responded to a total of 67 calls over the week of Aug.31- Sept.6. Certain cases involving mental health issues, child welfare or other undisclosed matters will not be reported.Calls began on the 31st with a call regarding a hit and run taking place in Carlyle. The victim provided some suspect information to the RCMP and the matter is still under investigation. No one was injured in the collision.A 911 call followed regarding another collision, this time with some injuries. This took place in the Kisbey area when two semis met at an intersection and failed to yield the right of way. One person was taken to hospital but later released with minor injuries. Charges were laid against a 31-year-old male for failing to yield the right of way.RCMP were called to the town of Redvers for an erratic driving complaint. No one was injured but the complainant had spoken to the suspect. RCMP are still investigating possible charges.The department was dispatched along with Kipling fire department and Carlyle ambulance services to the Moose Mountain Provincial Park. A person quading in the park had been injured. Upon arrival the injuries were found to be more severe than expected and STAR ambulance attended to fly the injured person to Regina hospital. The patient was removed from the initial scene and moved to the baseball diamonds where the helicopter could land safely. The last update given to the RCMP said the person was still in hospital receiving treatment.A complaint of slow moving farm equipment was reported to be slowing down traffic on the highway. When RCMP attended the suspects had already left the scene. A member was called to an assault in the afternoon. Two intoxicated males were arrested at the scene. Charges are being investigated and will likely be laid against one of the subjects.A local business reported an intoxicated male who refused to leave the premises. A second intoxicated male was located in the area and had to be arrested as well as a party to the offence. Both a 50-year-old male and a 54-year-old male were held in cells and charged with being intoxicated in public.RCMP responded to a call of a possibly impaired driver in the area. The driver was reported to be driving around with other occupants in the vehicle at the time. The suspect was located while not driving. Due to lack of evidence and lack of witness testimonies, no charges were laid. He was however spoken to.Threats were uttered towards a complainant and their property in the Manor area. The matter is still under investigation.An assault took place in the town of Redvers. No one received any injuries requiring medical attention. The matter is still under investigation.RCMP were called to Main Street in Redvers where a newer style Mustang had crashed into a cement median. After investigation, a member determined that the driver had been drinking. The subject was arrested and taken to the Carlyle detachment for breath samples. A 19-year-old male is now facing charges and must appear in court. A complainant reported an intoxicated person at the Kenosee Lake area. RCMP assured that the suspect received assistance in a safe return home. Calls on Sept 1st began with a call to a residence in the Carlyle area for an assault. Upon arriving it was found that two intoxicated males had assaulted a third party. The two males were arrested and the RCMP is seeking evidence in order to lay charges of assault.An intoxicated person was reported at a Redvers hotel. The complainant informed the police that the subject of the complaint had already left and there was no further need for police assistance.A fight was reported in Redvers. RCMP attended but did not locate the men. After investigation it was found that the males had a simple verbal argument with little physical altercation. No one was in need of medical treatment.A call followed to report cattle being out on Highway 601. The caller reported that the cattle were in the middle of the road and a hazard. The owner of the cattle was contacted and the cattle were removed from the road.Members were called to the Forget area for subjects who were fighting on the side of the Highway. The caller had actually given the subjects a ride and RCMP were unable to locate the subjects because they left the Carlyle detachment area. The matter is being investigated.A 20-year-old male was arrested in the area. He was taken into custody for operating a vehicle while impaired. He was taken to the detachment for breath samples and is now facing charges in court.Information on Sept. 2nd began with a report of a man breaching his conditions. Members investigated and at this time charges are not being sought.A collision was reported in Redvers. Members attended to find a pickup truck had lost a part on the Highway which caused a second vehicle to crash into said part. Only minor damages occurred.An erratic driver was reported in Manor. Patrols were made but failed. The witness did however provide a license plate number and charges are being investigated.The detachment was dispatched along with local fire departments to a stubble fire in the Arcola area. Smoke crossing over grid 604 is suspected to have been a contributing factor in a collision that took place. The road way was closed for almost three hours while the fire departments battled the fire. The cause of the fire is believed to be non-suspicious.A complaint of a vehicle speeding around the town of Carlyle was reported. The suspects name was given to the member and the RCMP continue to investigate.Horses were reported Sept. 3 on the highway just north of Carlyle. Patrols were made but no horses were found.A false alarm occurred in Kisbey. Well on route to the residence, the key holder called to inform them there was no need for police assistance.An assault was reported in the area. The victim apparently received minor injuries and did not seek medical attention. The member could not locate the suspects at the time but the matter is still under investigation.A call regarding a vehicle which had suffered fire damage in Redvers was reported. The cause of the fire was not suspicious.Members responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 13. Redvers EMS and fire department were on scene to treat the injured parties. The driver and passengers were taken to Moosomin hospital. Statements are still coming in regarding the incident. None of the occupants received any serious injuries.The detachment was called to the Co-op gas bar in Carlyle for a gas and dash. The suspect vehicle was a white coloured pickup truck with a female driver. The matter is still under investigation.Members attended a residence in the area where a nine-year-old girl suffered injuries from a dog bite. The girl was taken to Estevan hospital for treatment and the dog was immediately quarantined. Public health is assisting to insure the safety of the girl and to provide any necessary testing of the animal. Charges will not be pursued. An intoxicated person was reported sitting on the highway near Kisbey. RCMP made patrols, but failed to locate the suspect.Calls on the 4th began with a complaint of driving offences being committed just outside of Forget. The witness made complaints about the excessive speed and poor passing skills. A member attended and numerous amount of traffic offence charges were laid.A 911 hang up call was received. Upon phoning back a resident informed police that children had been playing with the phone. The members attended to insure the safety of all of the residents and to discuss monitoring children activity around the telephone. A call was received regarding a barking dog in Carlyle. The owner of the dog was contacted and provided details of the incident as well as the care of the dog. The dog was moved and no charges were laid. The RCMP would like to remind the public that the town of Carlyle does have bylaws regarding barking dogs. A stolen vehicle was reported in the early hours of Sept. 5th. The vehicle was stolen outside of a business in Carlyle. At this time the 2005 black Dodge SX 2.0 has not been recovered. RCMP are continuing to investigate.Members responded to the RM of Brock for a complaint of a theft regarding items in a storage container. RCMP attended and the issue is on-going.A break and enter was reported at a Wawota business. Suspects entered the business and took an undisclosed amount of cash. Members attended and an investigation of the scene was conducted. The matter continues to be under investigation.Numerous cattle were reported on Highway 9. The members attended and removed the cows from the Highway.A complaint regarding a vehicle which had run over a stop sign in Carlyle was reported. Members attended and the investigation is continuing. Members were called to a single vehicle collision just outside of Carlyle. A vehicle that was entering the Highway had lost control causing him to roll. Under investigation it was found that the driver was intoxicated. Both occupants of the vehicle were taken to the hospital. The RCMP is waiting for the result of blood analysis before charges are pressed.A suspicious vehicle was reported being parked in a rural area near Wawota. RCMP attended to find that the owner of the vehicle had been out hunting. A false alarm was attended to at the Wawota school. Another call regarding cattle on the Highway near Forget was reported. The RM of Brock agreed to deal with the cows.A 911 call was made from the Redvers school on Sept. 6 over the lunch hour. It was determined that there was no emergency and it is believed that someone was playing with the phone. Members would like to remind the public that it is an offence under the 911 act to make false calls through the 911 system. People found responsible can be charged with hefty fines. A call was made to the Lion's Park regarding a car whipping around the park. Witnesses supplied a suspect name and vehicle description. The matter is under investigation.
