Between the week of July 26 and Aug. 1 the Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP received 47 complaints.
911 calls
There were four 911 calls in total. One was a false call, the second was a heavily intoxicated woman looking for a ride home, the third was concerning a child custody issue, while the fourth entailed a man who awoke with ripped clothing. He thought he may have been assaulted, but was unable to remember anything from the night before and he later said the RCMP would not be required.
False alarms
Three false alarms were inspected during this time. In each case the RCMP attended and found the buildings to be secure.
Animal call
There was a report of a dog bite in Wawota. A boy was bitten and required three stitches as well as antibiotics. The matter remains under investigation.
Thefts
A vehicle driving from Manitoba had stolen gas and was suspected to be travelling this way. Patrols were made but the vehicle was not located.
A theft of petrol was also reported from the Co-op gas bar. The plate number was obtained and members are following up.
A bicycle at the Moose Mountain Provincial Park was stolen and later recovered in the lake. This matter remains under investigation.
A complaint of theft of an ATV was reported and is currently in an ongoing investigation.
Lost
A wallet was reported as being lost, if found please report to the Carlyle detachment.
Keys were lost near Home Hardware and the owner was unable to locate them. If found it is asked for them to be dropped off at the Carlyle RCMP.
Break and enter
A break and enter occurred in Arcola at a construction site. The culprits also stole several items while causing damage totaling between $4,000 and $5,000.
A break and entering took place at a residence in Carlyle. The complainant found that they were familiar with the person and refused to press charges.
Controlled substance found
A complaint from a business was received after discovering a controlled substance on their property. Members attended and seized the substance for destruction.
Failing to comply
One individual was charged with failing to comply with undertaking. During curfew checks members found that a young adult had not abided and was charged resulting in the individual being wanted.
Fire
A call of fire was reported near Kisbey. A piece of farm equipment had overheated and caused a fire. No one was injured and police were not required, though the Kisbey Fire Department did attend.
Gun shots
Gun shots were reported near a residence. Members made patrols but were unable to locate any suspects. No damages were found in the area either.
Mischief
Calls of mischief involving youth running around ringing doorbells were reported in Carlyle. Patrols were made, but the youth were not found.
Mischief to an oilfield site was reported. RCMP attended and are still investigating the matter.
Request to locate an individual
A request to locate a person was filed. A family was worried about this person's well being. Patrols were made and the complainant later called back saying the individual had returned home.
Intoxicated individuals
Members were called to a residence in the Carlyle area where an unwanted intoxicated person was. The person was relocated to another house.
An intoxicated male was banging on a door of a residence. Members attended, but the subject had already returned home.
Abiding by posted signs
A complaint of hunters on posted land was called in to RCMP. The subjects were gone upon the arrival of officers. RCMP ask that you respect the land owners wishes and ask permission to hunt on their land.
Traffic infractions
Speeding tickets were issued to five people throughout the week. Tickets were issued to a 24-year-old male going 129 km/hr at $139, a 27-year-old male going 131 km/hr at $182, an 18-year-old male going 127 km/hr at $137, a 19-year-old male going 121 km/hr in an 80 km/hr zone at $202, and a 33-year-old female for driving 130 km/hr at $150.
There was a complaint of speeding along Highway 13. Members attended but were unable to locate the vehicle. RCMP will be increasing patrols in the area.
A seatbelt ticket was issued to a 29-year-old male at $175.
An erratic driver was reported for tailgating. Members attended but were unable to locate the vehicle.
A possible impaired driver was called into dispatch, but patrols were unable to locate the vehicle.
A complaint of a vehicle being damaged by a passing truck was reported. A large rock was thrown at a passing vehicle on the highway.
Collisions no serious injuries
There was a rollover near Kisbey which was attended to by fire and ambulance. The three occupants received non-life threatening injuries, including one who had been ejected from the vehicle as the individual was not wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol was not a factor in the rollover.
A complaint of a vehicle colliding with a semi was reported near Forget. The semi pulled out in front of an oncoming vehicle. The vehicle had slowed and there were damages done, but no serious injuries. The matter remains under investigation.
Near Redvers was a deer collision. The occupants of the vehicle were not injured; however, the vehicle was not drivable.
A minor collision took place in Carlyle where two vehicles had been backing out of adjacent stalls simultaneously. One backed into the front end of the other. The matter was reported to SGI.
