Weekly RCMP report

For the week of May 31 to June 6 the Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP responded to 71 calls. False calls There were 12, 911 calls received by RCMP. Nine were problems with the phone lines, while three were non-offence emergencies.

For the week of May 31 to June 6 the Carlyle Detachment of the RCMP responded to 71 calls.


False calls


There were 12, 911 calls received by RCMP. Nine were problems with the phone lines, while three were non-offence emergencies.


Two false alarms were attended by RCMP. One was a residence in Redvers and the other at a business in Redvers.


Black bear sighting


On June 1, there was a report of a black bear sighting in Moose Mountain Provincial Park. SERM was notified and attended.


Assaults


Two assaults were reported. The first is under investigation. The second was reported between family and the RCMP attended, no one was injured but it remains under investigation.


Next of kin notification


Members assisted Regina services with a next of kin notification. Rachel Shepherd was found deceased in Regina and James Dustin Woody Meyers has been charged with second-degree murder.


Break and enter


Five cabins were broken into and RCMP were able to arrest five youth involved who are now facing criminal charges in court of breaking and entering.


A break and enter in the Antler area was reported. It was a home invasion. The suspect was discovered by the homeowner and fled. The matter is under investigation.


Causing a disturbance


Three reports of causing a disturbance were reported. Two did not require charges, while the third involved a 43-year-old female who will be facing charges in court.


Uttering threats


Two reports of threats uttered were reported. One involved a family situation where no charges were laid. The second involved a 43-year-old female who will be facing charges in court.


Mischief


There were three calls of mischief. One involved a smashed window on a SERM vehicle. There are currently no suspects. The second call was of a vehicle damaged while parked outside a business at Kenosee Lake. There was a call to a residence in the Carlyle area where an intoxicated person creating a major disturbance. Members attended, but the suspect had fled and is being sought by RCMP.


Fires


Two fires were reported. One involved a vehicle catching fire at White Bear. The vehicle was damaged, but no one was injured. The second was a grass fire in the Manor area.


Items turned into RCMP


An iPod and small duffle bag were turned into the detachment.


A snowmobile missing its motor was found and this matter is under investigation.


Lost wallet


A gentleman reported a lost wallet.


Arcola noise bylaw


RCMP attended Arcola for a noise bylaw complaint. Members spoke with a land representative who turned off the music. No charges were laid.


Intoxicated people fighting


A call to Arcola for intoxicated people fighting on the street was reported. Police arrived and arrested a 30-year-old male who was charged with liquor related offences.


Traffic infractions


A 75-year-old female was charged with driving while suspended and is going to be facing charges in court.


A 41-year-old male was arrested for impaired driving and will be facing charges in court.


An adult male was arrested for impaired driving.


RCMP were called to the White Bear Resort where a vehicle was being driven erratically. The vehicle was located and the driver was sober, but three occupants were charged with liquor related offences.


Two complaints involving impaired drivers were reported. Members were unable to locate the suspect vehicles.


Persons were reportedly drinking in a vehicle. The RCMP located the vehicle, which was parked and there was no evidence to support claims of an offence.


A 37-year-old male received a stop sign ticket for $230.


Speeding tickets were issued to a 71-year-old female of $186, a 57-year-old male of $196, and a 19-year-old male of $131.


A 38-year-old male was ticketed $184 for speeding and fined $115 for window tint.


One call of an erratic driver passing vehicles on the right was reported and the matter is under investigation.


Theft


A business complaint of theft of fuel from a business site is under investigation.


Theft of money from a business in Redvers was reported and RCMP have a subject.


Possession of stolen property


RCMP is investigating suspects who were in possession of stolen property. The vehicle in their possession had previously been stolen and charges are pending.


Request to locate a person


A request to locate a subject was received. The subject was located shortly after and was found to be fine.


Stolen vehicle


A vehicle was stolen from a residence at Kenosee Lake. Five youth are involved in a police investigation concerning this matter as well as a vehicle that had been stolen from Regina and located at Kenosee Lake. This vehicle was recovered and returned to the owner.


Abandoned vehicles


Three reports of abandoned vehicles were called into the detachment. Two calls simply required contacting the owners and the vehicles were moved. The third included a vehicle abandoned in a bush covered area in the Carlyle district, which had been stolen over the weekend.


Collisions, no serious injuries


There was a single motorcycle collision where the driver lost control and crashed suffering minor injuries, though the motorcycle was damaged extensively. No charges were laid.


A two vehicle collision at an intersection in Manor involving a 17-year-old youth who was charged with failing to yield the right of way. No one was injured.
