Weekly RCMP report

Between Jan. 18 and Jan. 24 the RCMP had 41 files reported. On Jan. 18 there was a collision on Highway 13 near Manor. There were minor damages and no injuries to those involved. No charges have been laid.

On Jan. 18 there was a collision on Highway 13 near Manor. There were minor damages and no injuries to those involved. No charges have been laid.

A call of a suspicious person who was located in a parking lot at a Carlyle business was received. RCMP located the male and found that he was wanted on unrelated charges. The subject was taken into custody. There was no offence committed on this date.

On Jan. 19 there was a report of someone taking a vehicle without consent. The victim knew the suspect and the matter is still under investigation.

A 61-year-old male was arrested for impaired driving. He was brought in for breath samples and will be facing charges in court.

A business in Redvers reported receiving repeated harassing phone calls. This is still under investigation.

RCMP were called to a residence in the Carlyle area where an intoxicated person was creating a disturbance. Police attended, but things had calmed and nobody was arrested.

There was a false alarm at a business in Redvers, but RCMP did not attend.

There was a call received concerning a vehicle striking a snow drift on Highway 8 near Redvers. The car suffered radiator damage and had to be towed. No one was injured.

A 26-year-old male was charged with speeding on Highway 9 near Carlyle and was given a ticket for $138.

An 18-year-old male was charged with speeding on Highway 9 north of Carlyle and was fined $135.

A 29-year-old male was charged with speeding on Highway 13 at Arcola and was given a ticket for $184.

On Jan. 20 a 32-year-old male was stopped on Highway 9 near Carlyle when he was arrested for impaired driving. The subject refused to provide a breath sample and will be facing charges in court.

On Jan. 21 a call of a collision involving a semi on Highway 13 near Forget was received. The vehicle had rolled to its side upon its tire entering the ditch. No one was injured and the truck was only hauling water. It was winched out of the ditch.

A complaint of a person receiving harassing text messages and phone calls in the Carlyle area was reported. This matter is still under investigation.

There was a call to a business in Carlyle for an intoxicated person causing a disturbance. The intoxicated male was located and no offence had been committed. The parties worked out their differences.

On Jan. 22 there was a complaint of a vehicle parked in a way as to obstruct traffic in Carlyle.

A complaint of an individual looking to make a purchase on ebay received a money-gram. The caller had become suspicious and contacted RCMP. The money-gram was found to be fraudulent and was luckily not out any money. The public should be aware of scams such as these. There was a hit and run reported from Redvers where a vehicle received minor damage while parked. There is no evidence, no witnesses, and no suspects at this time.

A complaint of a threat was made indicating they would harm another individual in Redvers and this is currently under investigation.

A complaint of assault was received in the Carlyle area. Parties involved knew each other. The RCMP made patrols and spoke with those involved. There were no injuries and no weapons used. At this time there are no charges to be laid.

On Jan. 23 a call of an erratic driver was reported on Highway 13 near Arcola. The vehicle was swerving across into the oncoming traffic lane at a low speed. The vehicle was identified and an investigation is still under way.

A call was received of a business in Redvers receiving a fraudulent cheque. The cheque has been turned over to police and is under investigation.

A business in Carlyle reported being a victim of theft. Following interviews a number of suspects have been identified and charges are pending.

On Main Street in Carlyle two intoxicated persons were causing a disturbance. RCMP attended and arrested both subjects, removing them from the site.

RCMP were called to a residence in the Carlyle area for a disturbance. Members attended where numerous intoxicated persons were. RCMP assisted in separating the parties. At this time no charges will be laid.

A complaint of an abandoned vehicle acting as an obstruction to the roadway was reported in the Kisbey area. RCMP attended and the truck was towed from the scene.

A business in Carlyle called in regards to an intoxicated person there. Members attended where no offence had been found to have been committed. The intoxicated person was cooperative and calm, so was allowed to leave.

RCMP were called to a hotel in Carlyle concerning an altercation between two subjects. One 48-year-old male was arrested, taken to cells, and held until sober.

On Jan. 24 a call of an injured deer was received from the Manor area. An officer attended and had to put the animal down for it was suffering.

A 19-year-old male was charged with failing to comply with the Identification of Criminals Act after failing to attend the detachment to give finger prints.

A complaint of theft at a Carlyle business was reported. The suspect is known and the business has dealt with the matter. At this time charges are not being sought.

RCMP were called to Highway 9 north of Carlyle where a semi had tipped its load into the ditch along the highway. A loader was called in to assist in picking up the scrap metal and debris. No charges are to be laid.

A 911 hang up call was received from a Carlyle business. RCMP determined there was no emergency at the site; but, do not know who had made the false call at this time.

A 34-year-old male was arrested for impaired driving. He was taken back to the detachment to provide a breath sample and is now going to be facing charges.
