The Weyburn Centennial Committee welcomes your involvement in the upcoming 100th Anniversary celebrations anticipated in 2013!

Every organization, large or small, profit or non-profit, old or new, are invited to participate by developing a centennial project or event. All are encouraged to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase their talents and mission to community members and visitors. Educate people about your organization's mission, goals, growth, accomplishments and contributions to the community over the years. Encourage visitors to come to Weyburn to learn about the history, beauty, culture, natural resources and activities in our City.

Centennial activities will take place throughout the year. Organizations are encouraged to plan projects and events at various times throughout the 2013 centennial year. The goal of the projects and events is to engage a broad spectrum of current and former residents of the Weyburn and surrounding area.

Events scheduled for next year include a Centennial Kick-off on January 1, 2013, a Homecoming Weekend the first weekend in August and the White Night on December 31. The Weyburn Centennial Committee will be planning a number of events for current and former residents of Weyburn and the surrounding area.

The Weyburn Centennial Committee would like to provide recognition and promotion of Centennial projects and events. One way to do so would be through Legacy Projects, which are educational, historically significant and will endure beyond the celebration. You could plant a tree or a garden, publish a book, fix up a trail, start a group you decide!

Through creating your own Centennial Events, you can recognize the City's milestone in your organizations own way while attracting audiences or participants. Also, even regular events being held in 2013 can be given a Centennial theme.

If your organization is planning a project or event to commemorate this important milestone in the history of the City of Weyburn, the Weyburn Centennial Committee can offer support. Although funding is not available, the Committee will support your organization through project and event guidance, venue suggestions, scheduling, referral to volunteer assistance and promotional activities, including having the information on our calendar of event and website.
