The Weyburn & District Chamber of Commerce will present the Golden Spike Award at the 2012 President's Dinner on January 27 at the Royal Canadian Legion.

The Chamber will welcome Steve McLellan, CEO of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce at the dinner.

"Steve will be updating us on the Provincial Chamber's upcoming year and will also be talking about growth strategies and the need for continued growth," said Chamber Manager Jeff Richards.

The Chamber will also install a new President at this year's Presidents Dinner.

"Jeff Chessall will be sworn in as President of the Weyburn Chamber this year, as Twila Walkeden becomes our Past President," Richards explained.

With the announcement of the Presidents Dinner, nominations are now open for the Chamber of Commerce's annual Golden Spike Award.

"This prestigious award is presented by the Chamber annually to someone who has made an outstanding contribution to our community through his or her services during the years preceding the date of the Award," said Richards. "This award has a rich history dating 30 years and being nominated puts someone in very good company."

Nomination deadline is January 24. Nomination forms can be downloaded from the Chamber website at weyburnchamber.com, or are available at the Chamber office.

Tickets for the President's Dinner are $28.00 and are available from the Chamber office or website.
