Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club suspends play due to pandemic

The Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club suspended its games in mid-March until further notice, because all events involving groups of people gathering have been cancelled. Once the COVID-19 physical distancing ends, duplicate bridge games will resume.

The Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club suspended its games in mid-March until further notice, because all events involving groups of people gathering have been cancelled. Once the COVID-19 physical distancing ends, duplicate bridge games will resume. Meanwhile, stay safe.

In the first half of March, the club did have regular games. March 2 had four and a half tables playing and Barry Mactaggart and Jim Kaz placed first; Lucie Nickel and Lydia Milleker took second; Linda Kot and Theresa Istace came third; and Terry Bendickson and John Whitell were fourth.

Four and a half tables played on March 5 and top honours went to Barry Mactaggart and Lucie Nickel; Denis Tremblay and Jim Kaz came second edging out Linda Kot and Theresa Istace who were third; and Erskine Sandiford and Fred Milleker placed fourth.

With four tables playing on March 9, first place went to Barry Mactaggart and Marg Stewart, second place went to Terry Bendickson and John Whitell, and third place went to Erskine and Mildred Sandiford.

March 12 had four tables and the winners were Barry Mactaggart and Jim Kaz; Lloyd Muma and Ron Wormsbecker placed second; and Theresa Istace and Erskine Sandiford placed third.

On March 16 the final game was held and with three tables playing, Barry Mactaggart and Jim Kaz finished in first, and Erskine and Mildred Sandiford placed second.
