Weyburn man faces drug charges

A Weyburn man has been charged with several drug related crimes after a five-week investigation by law enforcement officials.

A Weyburn man has been charged with several drug related crimes after a five-week investigation by law enforcement officials.

On the evening of May 6, the Weyburn Police Service, along with personnel from the RCMP and the Provincial Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU), executed a search warrant at a residence in Weyburnand took into custody 39-year-old Bruce Edward White.

The enforcement action was result of a five-week investigation focusing on drug trafficking activities being perpetrated by White in the Weyburn area.

White will face a number of charges including trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine), possession of proceeds of crime, as well as weapons related offenses after he was found in possession of a taser and brass knuckles.

Trafficking in controlled substances has a negative impact on Saskatchewan communities. Law enforcement across the province remains committed to carry out active enforcement and those convicted of offences face periods of incarceration.

CFSEU is a special enforcement unit funded by the Province of Saskatchewan dedicated to detecting, disrupting and dismantling organized criminal activity in Saskatchewan communities.
