Weyburn police assist in search for missing man

The Weyburn Police Service dealt with 186 occurrences over the week of Sept. 13-19, many of them alcohol related, with one item including a search for a missing resident, and a B&E at a local business.

The Weyburn Police Service dealt with 186 occurrences over the week of Sept. 13-19, many of them alcohol related, with one item including a search for a missing resident, and a B&E at a local business.

Police were called to assist in locating a missing resident from a local group home on Sunday. The resident was located a short time later.

City police were called to a break-and-enter to the Canadian Tire compound on Sept. 13. Several thousand dollars in merchandise was stolen, including a dirt bike, a mongoose bicycle, a purple quad and two snow blowers. Anyone with information regarding this theft is encouraged to call the Police Service or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.

Police received a call on Sept. 13 to investigate a door-to-door salesperson for carpet cleaning. Residents are reminded to call police if they feel the salesperson may not be legitimate or licensed.

City police arrested and charged a Weyburn male on Sept. 16 as a result of a complaint of theft from vehicles in the city. Several property items were recovered, and police continue to investigate.

On Sept. 13, police were called to investigate a complaint of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle. There were minor injuries reported, and the matter is under investigation.

Police arrested a charged a 37-year-old male from London, Ont., on Sept. 13 with driving while over .08.

City police arrested a Weyburn male on Sept. 15 for breaching his release conditions. He will appear in court in September.

Also on Sept. 15, police attended a domestic disturbance; the matter was resolved without incident.

A Weyburn male was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place on Sept. 16, and he was also in possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Police attended a domestic dispute in the city on Friday, and the matter was resolved without incident.

A disturbance was reported at the rear of a local hotel on Saturday, but the matter was resolved without incident.

Police were called to a local bar on Sunday to investigate a damage complaint. The matter is under investigation.
