Weyburn walk to end Muscular Dystrophy

The second annual Weyburn Campaign to End Duchenne will be taking place on May 14. The fundraiser is being organized by the Kerr family, which has four young boys living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in Weyburn.

The second annual Weyburn Campaign to End Duchenne will be taking place on May 14.

The fundraiser is being organized by the Kerr family, which has four young boys living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in Weyburn. The event consists of a five-kilometre walk or a five to 10-kilometre run to raise awareness and funds for research.

The walk will begin at Assiniboia Park Elementary School at 9:30 a.m. Registration takes place at 9 a.m.

Pledge forms are available at Sheri Lou's (lower level Co-op Metropolitan Centre), Co-op Food Store customer service desk, or online.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a degenerative disorder that usually has children wheelchair dependant by age 12 and an average lifespan that varies from late teens to mid-20s. All funds raised at this event will go to support Jesse's Journey, a Canadian charity that funds research for Muscular Dystrophy.
