The Bathgate family gather at the Normandy memorial in France, where they attended the ceremonies for the 70th anniversary of D-Day on June 6. They brought a banner, indicating all of the soldiers who came from Yellow Grass and served in the Second World War, all with the Regina Rifle Regiment; the list included their father/grandfather, George Bathgate, who survived the Normandy invasion at Juno Beach. From left to right are Jim, Kerry, Con, Debbie, Matt and Tony Bathgate. The banner was prepared by Jim, and was left at Juno Beach.
