Carlyle Novice Cougars in first round of playoffs

Who doesn't love playoff hockey? MOMS, that's who, it's too nerve racking to watch and not be able to do anything but cheer, you think the louder you cheer the faster they'll skate or the better they'll shoot, but in the end it comes down to the kids

Who doesn't love playoff hockey? MOMS, that's who, it's too nerve racking to watch and not be able to do anything but cheer, you think the louder you cheer the faster they'll skate or the better they'll shoot, but in the end it comes down to the kids and just being there for them win or lose.

The Cougars ended their regular season tied for 5th with Alameda and Redvers, with a count back at goals scored against they were in 6th place and facing off against the Redvers Rockets. It's a best of 3 series and Carlyle would play host for the 1st game on Saturday Feb 25th. Not knowing what to expect, with good games in the past against each other, you could feel the nervous excitement in the air. It was fantastic to see the fan base expand once playoffs were in full swing, they appreciate each and every one of you who came and cheered them on. The Cougars came out pumped and played every second of that first game and really gave their fans something to cheer about. They would come out on top, and be a game up moving to Redvers the following Saturday for game 2. Those kids came out fired up wanting to end it here, they played their hardest and kept us all on our toes and a few of us with sore throats. Trading goals back and forth the goalies for both teams were kept busy, but they couldn't come away with a victory on the Rockets territory. We wouldn't have to wait long though the final game of the series would be played Sunday in Carlyle. Both these teams came to play and represent their towns like pros. I think it was the best game the cougars played all season, it sure wasn't easy (for anybody, lol). It was a nail biter right up to the last 10 seconds but the Cougars would be victorious, in their barn, with their fans cheering very loudly!!

The next round of playoffs will be this week against the Carnduff Red Devils, see you at the rink.
