Cobras take home medals

The Weyburn Cobras Wrestling Club wrapped up their season with the Provincial Wrestling Tournament held in Meadow Lake on April 13.

The Weyburn Cobras Wrestling Club wrapped up their season with the Provincial Wrestling Tournament held in Meadow Lake on April 13. Coaches Mike Chuckry, Travis and Anita Franklin and Duane Bradley took 18 athletes to compete at the Freshie to Bantam Provincial tournament.

Every Weyburn wrestler brought home a medal, including nine gold medals, which went to Caitlin Davis, Katelyn Franklin, Mason Nikbakht, Carter Barrett, Frankie Gawryluik, Mckenna Ricard, Keith Allen, Allie Gawryluik and Halen Drake. Five silver medals were won by Ryan Verbeem, Eric Flemming, Billy Franklin, Trotter Drake and Nathen Bradley. Four bronze medals were awarded to Tyler Flemming, Kieran Ricard, Brayden Ealy and Cody-Lynn Whitrow.

The Cobra Wrestling Club also received the award for most points in the Bantam Male and Bantam Female categories. The Weyburn Cobra Wrestling Club will wrap up their season with their annual awards night that is being held on April 27.
