Duane Ward, retired Major League Baseball player, addresses those in attendance at the 12th Annual Sports Dinner and Auction hosted by the Weyburn Red Wings. Ward reminded the audience of the importance of sponsoring young people whose families can not afford for them to participate in organized sports, using his own childhood as an example. Kory Sheets, running back for the 2013 Roughriders Grey Cup team, and Curtis "Cujo" Joseph, retired National Hockey League goalie for multiple teams and goalie for the gold-medal winning 2002 Canadian Olympic hockey team, also spoke to the packed house in McKenna Hall on Saturday. All money raised at the dinner and auction supports the Weyburn Red Wings hockey team.
