Members of the Estevan Sharks 14U water polo program who are part of the Prairie Green girls team in the National Championship League travelled to Winnipeg this past weekend for National Championship League games.

The Prairie Green girls faced off against teams from the Winnipeg Neptunes and Winnipeg Bushido clubs.

The Greens, the Prairie Grey girls and Prairie boys teams are among those fighting for spots in the Western Championships in Surrey, B.C., in May.

This weekend marks the midway point of NCL competition. In the boys division, five teams will play 12 games each, vying for two spots at Westerns. The Prairie Boys have a 1-2-2 record. On the girls side, Prairie Green has a lead over the four teams in their division with a record of 8-0-1. Prairie Grey has a 2-2-1 mark.

The remaining 14U NCL games will be played in Regina Feb. 7-9 and in Winnipeg on Feb. 14-16.
