Henderson takes Crocus Open

The annual Crocus Open was held June 16 & 17 with 88 men competing. Marc Henderson was steady firing a 73-72 to win the Crocus Classic in Weyburn over the weekend. Henderson picked up 500 Order of Merit Tour points with his steady play.

Weyburn Golf Club hosted the annual Crocus Open from June 16-17 with 88 men competing. The winners included (l-r) Championship flight winner Marc Henderson; first flight winner, Lance Wakefield; second flight winner, Travis Mryglod; third flight winner, Marcus Simons; fourth flight winner, Christian Cote; senior Championship flight winner, Dennis Lizuck; senior first flight winner, Jack Jones and senior second flight winner, Daryl Hubick.

Marc Henderson was steady firing a 73-72 to win the Crocus Classic in Weyburn over the weekend. Henderson picked up 500 Order of Merit Tour points with his steady play.

In the Championship Flight, men's division, Marc Henderson of Weyburn took first place with a score of 145 and picked up 500 Order of Merit Tour points. Second place went to Brent Brown with a score of 148 and Nolan Rohatyn finished third with a score of 149.

In the first flight, Lance Wakefield took first place with a score of 157; second went to Mike Ross with 158 and Jeff Scobie finished third with a score of 159.

In the second flight, Travis Mryglod took first place with a score of 157; second went to Rylan Arneson with 161 and Pat Messer finished third with a score of 161.

In the third flight, Marcus Simons took first place with a score of 171; second went to Lloyd Kerowatski with 174 and Rod Mus finished third with a score of 174.

In the fourth flight, Christian Cote took first place with a score of 183; second went to Ray Colbow with 185 and Scott Lawrence finished third with a score of 188.

In the Championship Flight, senior men's division, Dennis Lizuck of Weyburn took first with a score of 163; second went to Dave Rommann with 170 and Gary Plonka finished third with a score of 172.

In the first flight, senior division, Jack Jones took first place with a score of 170; second went to Ed Henheffer with 175 and Brad Henderson finished third with a score of 175.

In the second flight, senior division, Daryl Hubick took first place with a score of 184; second went to Mel Hoffman with 184 and Blaine Frank finished third with a score of 191.

Specialty hole winners were: Saturday, June 16: Long drive - Blair Berbeurght; Closest to the pin on #4 - Trevor Benson; on #7 - Jerod Rommann; on # 16 - Brad Mryglod and on # 18 - Blair Pateman.

Sunday, June 17: Long Drive - Trevor Bensen; Closest to the pin on # 4 - Ed Henheffer; on # 7 - Tyler Hollar; on # 16 - Luke Guest and on #18 - Brad Henderson. The annual Horse Race event was won by Rick Halberg.
