Estevan Woodlawn Golf Club played host to its first major junior tournament of the year last Wednesday and Thursday. The Blischak Junior Golf Club Championship started on Wednesday at 10 a.m. and finished up on Canada Day with Michael Hengen returning to the clubhouse with the two-day tournament's best score.

Hengen, 18, shot 81 in both of his rounds, for a total of 162, seven strokes better than Dylan Lay, who posted scores of 84 and 85 - good enough for second-place. Kyle Salaway rounded out the top three in the championship flight, shooting 86 on the first day, and 87 on the second.

Both Lay and Salaway were competing in the 13-and-14 age group, making their finishes that much more impressive.

On the girls' side, Haley Lingelbach was the overall champion. Lingelbach shot a 95 on the first day of tournament-play, and then stormed back with an 86 on day-two, for a total of 181.

Lingelbach will be joined by girls' flight runner-up, Maddie Blischak at the Saskatchewan Junior Pro-Am, which kicks off on July 12 in Saskatoon.

On the boys' side, Tyson Price, Donavon Florek, Austin Dobrescu and Eric McKersie were also chosen to represent Estevan at the Pro-am.
