Jones named University of Regina's Male Athlete of the Year

The University of Regina held their annual Athletic Awards Night on April 10. Former Weyburn Comprehensive Eagles Football player, Brett Jones, was honored with the Male Athlete of the Year Award.

The University of Regina held their annual Athletic Awards Night on April 10. Former Weyburn Comprehensive Eagles Football player, Brett Jones, was honored with the Male Athlete of the Year Award. This award is given for athletic performance, academics, and leadership.

In the past season playing for the University of Regina Rams, Brett was awarded CIS First Team All Canadian for his position of offensive guard, and was an Academic All Canadian for the second time, maintaining an average of 93% while taking full 15 credit hours. He was also the CanWest nominee for the CIS Russ Jackson award.

Next month, Brett will be attending the CIS East West Bowl in London, Ontario, where football players from across Canada are invited to participate in the Under Armour Combine and a bowl game at the TD Waterhouse Stadium on the campus of Western University.
