Weyburn hockey player Preston Shupe, centre, puts four younger athletes through a fitness training drill on Thursday evening. Shupe has signed his first pro contract, joining the Bakersfield Condors, an affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, after finishing with Canisius College and helping them win their first-ever title and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. The athletes Shupe is working with are, from left, Drake Lindsay, Daniel Fellner (in front), Dylan Frey and Jarrett Metheral; Shupe keeps busy in training athletes through the summer along with best friend Kyle Haines, who he will be joining on the Condors.
