Local water polo athletes compete in Florida

Weyburn's Kelsey Jensen, Taylor Molde and Jenna Haupstein were in Coral Springs from February 17 to 19 to compete with Team SK in the girls U18 Youth Division at the Florida International Water Polo Tournament.

Weyburn's Kelsey Jensen, Taylor Molde and Jenna Haupstein were in Coral Springs from February 17 to 19 to compete with Team SK in the girls U18 Youth Division at the Florida International Water Polo Tournament.

In game one Team SK beat Central Florida Suns 13 to 3. Game two saw Team SK beat the Puerto Rico Gigantes De Carolina 11 to 5. Team SK then lost to Quebec 5 to 3. Team SK won their fourth game 10 to 4 over BC Pacific Storm. In their final game of the tournament Team SK beat Florida Navy 8 to 6 to capture fourth place in the tournament.

On the men's side, Weyburn's Russell Lenferna also competed with Team SK. In game one Team SK defeated the Florida White Caps 14 to 5. Game two Team SK beat YCF 10 to 8 but came up short in game three and lost 10 to 9 to Hungary. Then Team SK beat Princeton 9 to 7. In their final game of the tournament Team SK lost in overtime to Encantada Puerto Rico 9 to 8 to capture sixth place in the tournament.
