The South East Saskatchewan Roller Derby League will be hosting the Mid Summer Slam on July 27 at 7:00 p.m. The local area derby team, Hillbilly Hurt, will be taking on the Headstone Honeys from Portage La Prairie, MB.
SESRDA will bring Roller Derby to Weyburn for the first time ever.
"It's history in the making," said SESRDA Weyburn division president Krista Sandney. "This game is very important. Our league has been working toward this for years and we are finally at the point we can bring the sport we love to this city."
"It's also excellent timing," she added, "as Weyburn is celebrating its centennial, it is moving on with Derby in its future."
The doors will open at 6:00 and the first whistle will blow at 7:00 p.m.
