Olympian speaks to Weyburn youth about determination

RBC Olympian Amy Alsop spoke to the students of the Weyburn Junior High and the Weyburn Comprehensive Schools on May 11.

RBC Olympian Amy Alsop spoke to the students of the Weyburn Junior High and the Weyburn Comprehensive Schools on May 11. Alsop shared her unique stories and experiences as a Canadian Paralympian, inspiring them with the power to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams. Her visit is part of RBC's community celebration, which marks the 100th anniversary of its Weyburn branch. Alsop, whose hometown is Regina, plays Goalball, a competitive sport designed specifically for visually-impaired athletes. Alsop is a three-time Paralympic Games participant with medals in 2000 (gold) and 2004 (gold) and is the recipient of 2005 Saskatchewan Centennial medal in recognition of outstanding contribution to amateur sport in Saskatchewan.
