Pee Wee Cougars off to slow start

So the Pee Wee Carlyle Cougars (Wade) had their first game down in Carnduff last Sunday. It was 4-0 after the first period. The team was getting outplayed quite badly but was held in by some great goaltending by Judah Wardrope.

In the second period, however, our team came out strong. Jarred Valentine scored the first goal of the season for the Cougars with a nice shot early in the second period. The assist went to Haley Chapman. Unfortunately, the Carnduff Jr. Devils were able to mount pressure in the middle part of the period to score four more goals so we came out for the third period down 8-1. Although the Cougars were able to score twice more in the third, with nice goals by Zach Bell and Dawson Brown, the Devils poured it on and were able to score six more goals on a tired-looking Cougar team. It was a bit of a rough start against a strong Carnduff team but the kids had fun and we expect better things to come.

Go, Cougars! We are looking forward to a fun year together.
