Petro Bakken Wings split weekend games with Notre Dame

On November 10, the Petro Bakken Wings battled the Notre Dame Argos in Notre Dame. Though the boys battled hard they came up one goal short, suffering a fourth straight lose by a score of 4-3.

On November 10, the Petro Bakken Wings battled the Notre Dame Argos in Notre Dame. Though the boys battled hard they came up one goal short, suffering a fourth straight lose by a score of 4-3. They trailed 2-0 after the first period and 3-1 after the second. Scoring for Weyburn in the second was Donovan Lumb, assisted by Braden Mellon and Braden Rood. The third period saw Weyburn outscore ND 2-1. The Wings pressed hard in the last minute pulling their goalie for an extra attacker. Unfortunately they ran out of time. Scoring for the Wings was Brayden Leslie with assists going to Mellon and Jack Carleton. Also scoring was Donovan Lumb, assisted by Mellon and Rood. Billy Cuthbert suffered the loss in net.

On November 13, the Wings hosted the Argos and this time came out on the positive side of a one goal game. The Wings took an early lead and never looked back. After the first period the Wings sported a 2-0 lead. The first goal was from Braden Mellon unassisted. The Wings' second goal was scored by Daniel Fellner, assisted by Tucker Neuberger. The Argos scored the only goal of the second and made the game interesting heading to the third trailing by one point. Weyburn restored its two-goal lead when Lyndon Lumb scored the game winner, assisted by Neuberger. The Argos added a goal late and that was as close as they would come. Terrick Wilderman picked up the win in net. The Wings next action is November 19 when they will travel to Yorkton.
