Red Wings split weekend games

The Weyburn Red Wings faced the Notre Dame Hounds and the Yorkton Terriers over the weekend, with a 3-2 win over the Hounds and dropping 5-3 to the Terriers. Friday, October 4, the Wings had a good first period scoring two goals.

The Weyburn Red Wings faced the Notre Dame Hounds and the Yorkton Terriers over the weekend, with a 3-2 win over the Hounds and dropping 5-3 to the Terriers.

Friday, October 4, the Wings had a good first period scoring two goals. The first came off the stick of Kyle Oleniuk from Sam Williams and Tyler Borstmayer. Josh Lees scored the second goal from Brian Farkas and Ty McLean.

Williams scored with winning goal in the third period from Cooper and Oleniuk.

On Saturday, October 5, the Wings dropped 5-3 against the Terriers. All Wing scoring was done in the second period. The first goal coming from Donavon Lumb. Braden Mellon from Jon Brumwell and Colten LaRoque with the second goal and the third from Ty McLean with assists to Williams and Cooper.

The Red Wings will be in Flin Flon tonight and will host the Melfort Mustangs on Thursday, October 17 at Crescent Point Place. Puck drops at 7:30.
