The 14th annual Swing for Scholarships golf tournament was held September 14 at the Weyburn Golf Club. The event successfully raised approximately $10,600, topping the previous year's proceeds. The funds will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Ministry of Advanced Education's Saskatchewan Opportunity Scholarship program and awarded as scholarships to Southeast Regional College students registered in full-time post-secondary studies.

All 63 golfers were treated to a gorgeous day of golf, a delicious steak BBQ and a variety of prizes at the Weyburn Golf Club. The team that registered the lowest score for the day was comprised of Kevin, Joedy, Brad and Tanner Wallin.

Marketing Manager for Southeast Regional College, Dave Harazny, was extremely satisfied with the tournament results.

"Everyone had an enjoyable time thanks to the great weather," said Harazny. "We had numerous comments about what a great tournament this was and how well-organized it was. I can't thank our volunteer committee, our sponsors, and the Weyburn Golf Club enough for making this our most successful Swing for Scholarships in its 14-year history!"

Next year's tournament is scheduled for September 13, 2013 at the Weyburn Golf Club. The Swing for Scholarships golf tournament will also be expanding to Estevan for the first time next year.
