The Estevan Sherritt Coal peewee AA Bruins followed up a lopsided loss with a narrow victory during two road games on the weekend.

On Friday, the Bruins (8-3-1) visited the powerhouse Yorkton Terriers in a battle of the top two teams in the South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League.

The undefeated Terriers, who have scored 157 goals and allowed only 18 this season, dumped the Bruins 13-1.

Shae Little scored the Bruins' only goal late in the third period.

Derrick Budz (3), Kaeden Taphorn (2), Logan Foster (2), Jake Kustra (2), Carson Welke, Trey Bear, Kaeden Korczak and Tyler Stratechuk supplied Yorkton's offence.

Ethan Veroba and Zach Miller shared the Bruins' goaltending duties.

On Sunday, the Bruins earned a 3-2 victory over third-place Weyburn. Hunter Piche scored twice for Estevan, with Josh Skjonsby providing the other marker.
Veroba earned the victory in goal.

The Bruins have a pair of home games against the Terriers this weekend. They host the league's top team on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. and Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
