WEYBURN - The South East Sport, Culture & Recreation District is seeking nominations from people who have the capacity, energy, and spirit to join their board and work collaboratively with each other and the staff to advance the organization’s strategic outcomes.
The following are attributes that the district feels would make for a strong addition to the board:
• Future-orientated, big-picture thinking and problem-solving;
• Desire to learn about and participate in non-profit policy governance, including strategic decision-making, policy work, and networking;
• Interest in finding opportunities for growth through learning, collaboration, and consensus-building.
In addition to these general attributes, the board is also seeking to welcome individuals who may have experience in the fields of finance, arts/culture, and those with an understanding of issues and opportunities in sport, culture, and recreation.
As a board member, you should expect a fun and welcoming environment that values your perspective and to be offered opportunities that help you achieve your goals, whether that is developing new skills, gaining experiences that can help you in your career, broadening your professional and personal networks, and spreading the benefits of sport, culture, and recreation.
The board meetings are easy to attend, as they offer a mix of Zoom virtual meetings along with face-to-face opportunities.
