The past week the Novice team travelled to Redvers on Thursday, Dec 13th and had Kipling visit on Saturday, Dec 15th.
The team has been progressing well, improving their skills and teamwork. The past couple of games were very exciting to watch with plenty of action and excellent effort by all the players.
The game on the 13th in Redvers was a nail-biter until the 3rd period. We had Drayden Arndt in goal. He did an outstanding job, and had a shut-out until the 3rd period. Unfortunately, our team seemed to lose steam and powered out in the last period. We lost 2 - 6. Goals were scored by Colby Cuddington, with an assist to Cadence Chapman.
On Saturday, the 15th, we hosted Kipling. The team played hard, giving a very good effort and coming on strong right from the start. Again, with Drayden in net, Carlyle was ahead 4 - 1 half way through the 2nd period. Kipling showed some real spirit and started their come-back. Our team returned goal for goal, with the game ending in a 7 - 6 win for Carlyle. Goals were scored by Everett Brown, Colby Cuddington and Cadence Chapman, with assists by Colby and Krimson Standingready.
The team has a break over Christmas, returning to action January 5th & 6th. Good job team, keep up the good work and have a Very Merry Christmas break!
