With school beginning soon sports camps are springing up, ready to give youth a jump start on refreshing their skills for the new season.

One of these includes the Panthers Volleyball Camp in Arcola, which is open to anyone interested, no need to be an Arcola student.

"This camp is in its 7th consecutive year running," Eugene explains. "It offers high quality instruction and sound leadership, all within the framework of enjoying the game. The athletes will not only 'shake the rust off' if they haven't been playing over the summer months, but will also learn many new techniques, strategies, and skills. This should help in their very soon, upcoming, school season; making it a solid experience for them."

The Panther Volleyball Camp will be held on Aug. 24 and Aug. 25, the camp will be split into two groups based largely on grade of the player and skill level.

The session is tentatively set for grade nine students and up, though it will be based on skill level as well as grade when placed into the sessions. These sessions will be held between 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The sessions for grade six to eight students are then held between 10 a.m. and noon as well as 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

The camp will be run by Dan Frazer and Eric Brown. Frazer has much experience having played on Team Saskatchewan in the past and participated in nationals with a volleyball team out of Virden. Brown has been coaching a club team for the last two years out of Arcola and has over 15-years-playing experience, which he is able to relay to young players.

Cost for the camp is $75 for grades six through nine and $90 for grades 10 through 12.

If interested there are still spots available, which can be claimed through contacting Senior Boy's Volleyball Coach, Eugene Brown, by calling (306)455-2787 or sending a text message to (306)577-1455.
