Water Polo athletes to National Selection Camps

Four Weyburn youths who play for the Hurricane Water Polo Club have been selected by Water Polo Canada to centralize with their respective National Team programs this summer.

Four Weyburn youths who play for the Hurricane Water Polo Club have been selected by Water Polo Canada to centralize with their respective National Team programs this summer.

Russell Lenferna has been selected, along with three other athletes from Team Saskatchewan, to attend the born in 1994 to 1995 top 30 selection camp to be held in Toronto, Ontario July 4 to August 3. Lenferna will be competing for a position on the 13 player 17U Canadian National Team that will represent Canada at the XVI Pan American Junior Mens' Water Polo (17U) Championships. The Championships are to be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico August 4 to12.

Kelsey Jensen and Taylor Molde have been selected, along with a third player from Team Saskatchewan, to attend the born in 1994 top 30 selection camp to be held in Montreal, Quebec July 1 to 14. The girls have been selected to this camp despite being born in 1995.

The purpose of this selection camp is to select the top 14 athletes who will be asked to centralize in Montreal leading up to the final selection for the 17U Canadian National Team that will represent Canada at the XVI Pan American Junior Womens' Water Polo (17U) Championships. The Championships are to be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico August 4 to12.

Dakken Bedore has been selected, along with two other athletes from Team Saskatchewan, to attend the born in 1996 to 1997 top 30 selection camp to be held in Gatineau, Quebec August 1 to 13. Bedore has been selected for this camp despite being born in 1997. Bedore will be competing for one of 20 positions on the 16U Canadian National Team that will represent Canada at tournaments in Serbia and Turkey August 13 to 29.
