A game against Melville had to be delayed slightly, but still was played on Sunday evening, with the Beavers winning 7-2. No runs were scored until the third inning, when Melville scored two runs and the Beavers were able to score once.
The Beavers claimed a deciding lead in the fourth inning, by scoring five runs, and then added one more run in the fifth inning.
Single runs were batted in by Ranny Lowe, Dustin Silva, Derek Wallace, Matthew Kinney and Jon Neuberger, with two runs batted in by DeMontez Jones. Taylor Wright was the winning pitcher, as he pitched for eight innings, and allowed two runs on four hits, with two errors recorded. Tommy Hanks came in as relief, pitching one inning.
The Beavers were in Yorkton for a doubleheader on Saturday, splitting the action against the Cardinals. They won the first game 3-1, by scoring one run in the first inning and notching two runs in the fifth inning. The Cardinals were able to notch one run during the fifth inning.
Jones scored the first run of the game by stealing home, with the other runs batted in by Lowe and Jones. Robbie Rocamora was the winning pitcher, he pitched all seven innings, and allowed one run on seven hits.
Then during the second game against the Cardinals, Weyburn lost that game 3-2. The Beavers were able to score one run in both the fourth and fifth innings. Yorkton notched three runs during the fourth inning.
A home run was hit by Wallace in the fourth inning, to score only himself. The other run was scored by Jean Rodriguez. Luke Hawkins suffered the loss on the mound, he pitched for six innings, and had three runs scored off two hits.
The Lethbridge Bulls were in Weyburn for a game on Thursday night, winning the game 6-5. The Bulls were scheduled to play again on Friday night, but that game was rained out.
During Thursday action, the Beavers picked up one run in both the fourth and fifth inning. Lethbridge scored two runs in the fifth inning, and notched one run in the sixth to take a slight lead.
Weyburn tied the game with a run in the seventh inning.
Then the Bulls scored three runs in the eighth inning, and the Beavers were only able to notch one more run in both the eighth and the ninth innings.
Single runs were batted in by Taylor, Neuberger and Rodriguez, with two runs batted in by catcher Alex Hetrick. Kris Keating started on the mound and pitched seven innings, with three runs scored off six hits and three errors record.
Stuart Springer came in as relief for one inning, and suffered the loss after having three runs scored off two hits. Dalton Silva pitched the final inning.
Earlier in the week, the Beavers lost 11-0 to the Regina Red Sox, who are currently leading the East division of the Western Major Baseball League.
Regina scored two runs early in the first inning, then added six runs in the second and one run in the third. Their other two runs were scored in the fifth inning.
Riley Schaaf started on the mound, and pitched two innings, with eight runs scored off seven hits and eight errors recorded.
Taylor Wright pitched two innings with one run scored; Brad Weisgerber pitched for three innings with two runs scored; and Tommy Hanks closed the last two innings, with no runs scored.
Top leaders for the Beavers include Derek Wallace with a batting average of .348, Dustin Silva with four home runs, Joseph Taylor for runs-batted-in, Dalton Silva for pitching wins and errors recorded at 0.00, and Tommy Hanks for strike outs.
Next action for the Beavers will be tonight, June 20, when they host the Regina Red Sox at Tom Laing Park.
Then on Thursday, June 21, the Beavers will host Saskatoon. Both games start at 7:05 p.m.
