Weyburn fighter Clint Mohan went head to head with Ryan Rohovich at April's MMA event. Mohan will face Tony Calverley at Prestige Fight Club's MMA Event "Fall Out" Saturday, September 28 at Crescent Point Place. "Fall Out" is a collaborative effort of Prestige Fight Club of Regina and partners, United Centrifuge and the Weyburn Red Wings.

It's not all about the flying punches, bone crunching kicks and stunning submissions, it's about community.

Weyburn gets set to host the second Prestige Fight Club's MMA event "Fall Out" Saturday, September 28 with 13 fights on the card.

"We have 100 people coming to the show from around the world," said Cord Crowthers of Prestige Fight Club. "That's not including the fans. The economic impact of this is approximately $300,000 to the local economy."

In addition to bringing people from across the world, the event draws attention to the local club. April's event raised $31,000 for local sport.

"We came to the community with the idea to help. And we proved it," said Crowthers.

Weyburn had one local fighter, Clint Mohan, on the first card "The Rising," which has more than doubled with four local fighters appearing on the "Fall Out" card. Joining Mohan are Clayton Schira, Andris Baltgaivis and Dean Hodgkins who have been busy training for the upcoming event.

Hodgkins was supposed to fight at "The Rising" but due to an injury to his opponent hours before the show, his fight was cancelled.

"Dean seems to be the favourite. I've had more phone calls and emails about his fight than any other on the card," said Crowthers, noting Hodgkins is the "hometown hero" and the highlight of the card.

Title Belts are on the line in four weight classes.

In the 125 lbs class, Haiti's Mark Sainci will take on Honalulu's Samuel Quel. Both fighters are 6-0.

"Someone will lose their first fight," said Crowthers, adding this will be an exciting match to watch with the speed and agility of the flyweight division.

The PFC Welterweight title is on the line where Prince Albert's Ryan Rohovich, 2-0, battles Winnipeg's Jules Beardy, 3-3.

Lane Keys of Calgary is 2-0 and will face Brock Peters, 3-4, of Ontario in the 145 lbs class.

The heavey weights in the 285lbs division will see Las Vegas' Charles Williams, a 6'6" powerhouse take on Roman Ott a 6', 7-0 fighter from Iowa.

"There's something for everybody," said Crowthers. "This is not just about beating each other to a pulp, it's an all night event. The fights are only a small part."

The entire weekend, Prestige Fight Club, along with their partners United Centrifuge and the Weyburn Red Wings, will be filled with the MMA experience.

UFC striking coach Ron Fraizer will be hosting a seminar Friday, September 27. Weigh ins take place early that evening at Sadhana Yoga Studio.

Mitch "Danger Zone" Clarke will also be hosting a seminar in the afternoon on Saturday, September 28, also at Sadhana Yoga.

"Fall Out" doors open at 5:30 with the fights beginning at 7.

There are still tickets and a few VIP tables available. Call Cord at 306-581-6121. For every VIP table sold up to the event, Prestige Fight Club will donate $100 to Weyburn MMA for new equipment for their students.
