Coming off a 5-3 win against the Nipawin Hawks on December 14, the Wings were downed by the Bombers and Broncos over the weekend.

"I'm happy with the way our guys played over the weekend. They played extremely well and extremely hard on the weekend," said Coach Bryce Thoma.

The Wings played hard taking the lead in the December 15 game in Humboldt losing 4-3 in overtime.

"As a coach, I thought they played well," he said.

The Red Wings and their coaching staff weren't too pleased with the performance of the officiating in Humboldt.

"I can't stand for that when the team played as hard as they did," said Thoma.

Donavon Lumb started off the scoring in the second period for the Wings from Mason Anderson. Matt Eng scored the second goal with assists to Jacob Jeske and Tyler Borstmayer.

Anderson scored the third goal in the third period from Brendan McKay and Ty McLean.

On Saturday, in Flin Flon, the Wings were down 4-1 into the third period, with Brian Farkas with the only goal. Shain Scheschuk banked the second goal in the third from Lumb.

The game against the Hawks on Friday was a good character win for the Wings. The team was down 3-0 10 minutes into the game, when Josh Lees scored an unassisted short-handed goal in the second. Braden Mellon scored off the sticks of McKay and McLean.

The score was 3-2 for the Hawks going into the third, when Nathan Morris scored assisted by Farkas. Scheschuk got the final goal with the assist to Jon Brumwell.

The Wings were back in action December 18.
