Cheers and Jeers for Feb. 1

Cheers to those who were involved with the Robbie Burns Night last weekend. The food was excellent and the entertainment was great. Cheers to the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins for sweeping their home games against Melfort and Nipawin.

Cheers to the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins for sweeping their home games against Melfort and Nipawin. It was great to see Cody Davis get a couple of goals against Melfort, too.

Cheers to SARCAN for making it easier for organizations to conduct bottle drive fundraisers.

Cheers to people working outside in these extreme temperatures. It’s not a lot of fun spending a full day outdoors when it’s -30 C.

Cheers to local grocery stores for offering pre-cut fruits and vegetables. It is so nice to have it done for customers.

Jeers to the people sitting in one of the boxes at the Bruins game versus Nipawin on Jan. 25. It was not very mature to be swearing and giving the Nipawin goalie the finger.

Jeers to those who have been criticizing Estevan MLA Lori Carr for participating in a Yellow Vest protest last month.

Jeers to those whose electrical chords cross the sidewalk and create a trip hazard for pedestrians. A block heater and an engine are not more important than a pedestrian’s safety.

Jeers to those who are posting photos of themselves vacationing in warmer clients in an effort to brag to us who have been freezing this week.

Jeers to the amount of snow we still see on many sidewalks in the community. It’s time for the city to take action, remove the snow and bill the homeowner.
