Cheers and Jeers for Oct. 26

Cheers to the Power Dodge Estevan Bruin players who participated in the CanSkate program Oct. 15. They are a great inspiration to the kids and they handled themselves very professionally.

Cheers to the organizers of all the Halloween events that have been taking place throughout the community, and will be happening in the coming days. It’s great to have these events in Estevan.

Cheers to those who were responsible for the Run the Course event at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club. It made for a nice brisk start to the morning.

Cheers to those who insist on paying it forward and paying for other people’s restaurant tabs, coffee orders and other purchases.

Cheers to everyone who has purchased tickets to see John Mellencamp in concert. We need to support these concerts or they won’t be happening at Affinity Place.

Jeers to a certain business in Estevan that charges $7.50 for four litres of milk. It’s a little bit overpriced.

Jeers to the driver of a maroon truck who ignored the yield sign at the corner of Sixth Street and Souris Avenue South earlier this week, and forced a motorist on Souris to come to a complete stop. It clearly wasn’t a case of yielding the right of way.

Jeers to the announcement of a carbon tax for Saskatchewan, and the negative impact it will have on the province’s economy.

Jeers to those who carelessly flick their cigarettes out the window of their vehicle, and those who toss litter from their vehicle and into the ditch.

Jeers to people who will insist on not getting a flu shot this year. Please think of others and get your vaccination.
