I am sorry that ProChoice ticks you off. I hope bullying ticks you off even more. Saskatchewan Choose Life News June 2012 had a very pertinent article by Maurice Vellacott MP for Saskatoon Wanuskewin, "Stop the bullying of Canada's most vulnerable" which prompts my letter.

Notice the political and community group support and serious discussions about the harm experienced by the victims of bullying. Who is a bully? One definition is "A quarrelsome, usually cowardly person who terrorizes weaker people".

Related to abortion, might the bully be the grandmother or the grandfather-to-be, the husband, or the boyfriend who coerce the pregnant woman into having an abortion? The abortion provider is the cruelest bully who ultimately kills the defenseless, innocent baby in the womb. The womb is normally meant to be the safest place of all.

Dr. Steven Zielinski, an internal medicine physician, from Oregon, one of the leading researchers into fetal pain has testified that a child in the womb could feel pain at "eight-and-a-half weeks and possibly earlier". (Life Site News.com September 1, 2011) Read Unplanned by Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood director. She assisted (not her official capacity at this time) in an ultra sound abortion and promptly said "Never again, Never Again" She then left the "business".

With awareness comes responsibility. Grandmother told her teenage grandsons "Sex makes babies". You say that most anti-choice groups (pro-life) oppose sex education. Teen-Aid Sask. visits (on invitation) schools and educates the youth about making healthy life style choices, being responsible for their sexuality and sexual decisions. Youth come to know that sex and pregnancy go together.

Options Pregnancy Center, Regina offers Peer Counseling that includes a pregnancy test, exploring all of the options, undertaking the facts about pregnancy, parenting, abortion and adoption, locating resources right for the specific individual and their situation, birth mother advocacy and support, post abortion support, material support and more.

Re: The woman raped. Colleen covered the violent actions rape and abortion.

Your claim is that females have "the right to live life as they please". Thoughtlessly making your choice-right to have sex might just "make a baby". Baby has a right. Abortion is wrong. Check your medical book. He/she looks like a baby early on and remember they feel pain. With time and nurturing watch her/him grow into the infant, the toddler, the teen, the adult. Mothers are generally more selfless than selfish.

Where are the Canadians, the political and community groups who demand action to bring an end to bullying but will not permit the discussion or placards showing the remnants of an abortion, the lethal bullying of the child in the womb?

Respectfully yours,

Marge Nishnick
