It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Anne Sproule of Weyburn. Carol passed away at the Weyburn Special Care Home on July 12, 2017 at the age of 62, after a two year battle with cancer. Carol was born July 30, 1954 in Fillmore. She grew up on a farm south of Creelman with her mom, dad, and three sisters. She went to school in Creelman and kept busy helping out on the farm. After high school, Carol moved to Regina to attend Marvel Beauty School and become a hair stylist. After one year at Marvel, Carol moved back to Weyburn and worked at a couple of different salons before ending up at La Mirage, where she worked for over 30 years. On June 21, 1980, Carol married Les Sproule at the United Church in Weyburn. They lived in Halbrite and McTaggart for a few years each before moving to Weyburn, where they lived for close to 30 years. Carol loved her daughters, Danielle and Kaley, and attended all of their music and sports activities growing up. She sold Avon on the side for many years, partnering with her good friend, June Fletcher, a few years back. Carol spent her spare time playing cards with her mom and sisters and cross-stitching, making many beautiful pictures for her family and friends. She was an avid Roughrider fan and could be caught yelling at the TV during a game. Carol was also involved in various activities and committees at the Weyburn Free Methodist Church, where she was a member for close to 30 years. Less than two years ago, Carol became a grandma for the first time, a role she treasured deeply. She loved her granddaughter, Moriah, very much and spent as much time with her as possible, even when she was quite sick. Carol will be deeply missed by many, as she touched a lot of lives. We are grateful that her cancer is now healed and that she is safe in the arms of her Heavenly Father. Carol was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Gertrude Hausch; sister, Norma Moldenhauer and in-laws, Leonard & Stella Sproule. Carol will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 37 years, Les Sproule of Weyburn; daughters: Danielle (Michael) Edinborough of Weyburn, and their daughter, Moriah; Kaley (Anthony) Gaulard of Calgary, AB; sisters, Barb Hunt and Karen Hausch; brothers-in-law: Marvin Sproule, Murray (Jan) Sproule and Larry (Ollie) Sproule as well as numerous nieces, nephews relatives and friends. A Memorial Service was held Wednesday, July 19, at 2:00 p.m. from the Weyburn Free Methodist Church, Weyburn, with Pastor Jay Mowchenko and Pastor Jody Pfeifer officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Carol may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation.
