Charlotte Louise Collins

Charlotte Louise Collins passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 in Weyburn at the age of 55. She was predeceased by her parents Cyril and Genevieve Collins and niece Teena Dawn Marie Collins. She leaves to cherish her memory, her brother Lyle (Karen) Collins and family Edward (Tasha) and Trevor; sister Melanie (Blaine) Ward and family Farron (Darcie), Wendy (Les), and Jennifer; brother Brian Collins; sister Donna (Wayne) Lillejord and family Christian, Gena (Chad),and Leslie (Brodie); brother Greg (Arliss) Collins and family Paula and Devin; great-niece Bryanna Yeik, great-nephews Jaxon Ward, Keaton Schlamp and Burke Ward. Charlotte was born to Cyril and Genevieve Collins on January 31, 1956 in Midale. She was the fourth child of a family of six. Mom and Dad played numerous games of cards and she was there for every game giving advice and playing her own card game right alongside. She was known for her writing skills - little wee squiggles on every line, line after line and page after page. She loved magazines and especially the Sears catalogue and spent numerous hours looking them over. She was the first to make sure that everyone was always introduced to each other. She admired Batman and always claimed she was going to marry him or Randy Travis, or a movie star. She loved to sing and dance and she had a good set of lungs on her. She moved in to Weyburn to her new home at Weyburn Group Home Society in February 1993. This was a big change for her but soon they became her loving extended family. She soon got to where she was more concerned about what was happening there and needing to get back to town, than staying with her family. She got to experience Camp Easter Seal, bowling, swimming, floor hockey, going for coffee and other road trips. She attended work at Weyburn Work-kin Shop until February 2009 when she moved in to Weyburn Special Care Home. Everyone that knew Charlotte knew that she was a kind and gentle soul and had a heart of gold. Every time you saw her you could expect a hug - and maybe even a kiss; and even if you didn't know her you were probably going to get one anyway. We will miss her laugh, her teasing and quick wit. She was an angel in her own way, who taught us many unspoken lessons and touched us all in so many different ways. A prayer service was held Sunday, November 20 from Fletcher Funeral Chapel. A funeral mass was held on Monday, November 21 at 10:30 AM from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn with Celebrant Father Gerry Bauche. Pallbearers were Trevor Collins, Farron Ward, Wendy Ward, Jennifer Ward, Christian Lillejord, and Devin Collins. Honorary Pallbearers were Edward Collins, Gena Lillejord, Leslie Lillejord, and Paula Collins. Interment took place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Tribune.
