Clara Lucy Knibbs, late of Weyburn, passed away June 3, 2017 at the age of 101 years. Clara was predeceased by her husband Leonard Knibbs; parents: Noah and Josephine LaValley; brothers: Louie LaValley, Wilfred LaValley, Fred LaValley; sisters: Edna Backlund, Bella Benson; daughter-in-law Elaine Knibbs; grandson-in-law Douglas McCullough; great-granddaughter Brittany McCullough. She leaves to mourn her sons: Medford, Leslie (Donna) and daughter Doreen Knibbs; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; brother Leo LaValley; as well as several nieces and nephews. Clara was born October 16, 1915 to Noah and Josephine LaValley. She received her education at Mona School in Huntoon, SK. She married Leonard Knibbs and they farmed for many years in the same area. They had two sons and one daughter, Medford, Leslie and Doreen. In 1959 they moved to Weyburn. Her early years in Weyburn she was employed at the Saskatchewan Hospital, retiring when she was 65. She loved dancing, fishing, playing softball, curling, travel and music. She played the accordion in the LaValley dance band when she was still on the farm. Prayers were held Wednesday, June 7, at 7:00 pm from St. Vincent Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, June 8, from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church at 1:00 pm with Father Francis Plaparampil celebrant. Active Pallbearers were: Marty Knibbs, Gary Knibbs, Shane Yeik, Derrick Big Eagle, Jon Michaud and Scott McDougall.  Honorary Pallbearers were all Clara’s grandchildren. Interment was held at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn, and lunch followed at McKenna Hall, Weyburn.
