A private family graveside memorial service for Dale Greiner, who passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer September 2, 2017 in Weyburn General Hospital, was held Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 1:00 p.m. at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Assiniboia, SK, with Larry Seeman, presiding. Honorary pallbearers were all in attendance. Donations may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation, 3602 Millar Ave, Saskatoon, SK, S7P 0B1. Dale Newman Greiner was born in Assiniboia, September 12, 1934. He was raised and attended school in Vantage, SK. He took his college of Agriculture at the U of S in Saskatoon after which he pursued his farming career in Vantage. He then married Ethel May Talbot on October 27, 1962 in the Vantage United Church. They were blessed with four children. Ethel passed away in July, 1992. Later he met Sheila Schneider and they were married in August of 1999. They farmed until retirement in 2000. They resided in Weyburn for their retirement years. Dale will be remembered for his devotion and loyalty to his family. His greatest source and joy was his grandchildren. All who knew and loved him will cherish the memories of his interest in people, his generosity, his independent spirit and sense of humour and his most famous saying of “Now What?” when you seen him. Dale was predeceased by his first wife: Ethel; parents: Newton and Lyla; son: Michael; brother: Clifford; sister: Marion; brothers-in-law: Mervin, Les, Clifford (Kathy); nephew: Irvin; stepchildren: Kerry, Tim. Dale is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Sheila; his children: Kelly (Mark), Kevin (Llynne), Jacki (Darcy) and their families; stepchildren: Kim, Darcy, Kelly (Lana), Pam and their families.; brothers: Earl (Maxine), Lyle (Sharon) and their families.
