Elizabeth Helen (Thompson) Milford

Elizabeth Milford passed away January 2, 2017 after a short bout of pneumonia. She was predeceased by her husband David on September 17, 1979; her sons Murray, Harvey and Lloyd; her daughter-in-law Jean (Sterling) Milford and son-in-law Milo Paulhus; Granddaughter-in-law Lynn Paulhus. She is survived by her daughters, Gladys Paulhus, Hazel Anderson, Beth (Alan) Kautzman, Gail (Gord) Hallick; sons Delvin (Donna) Milford, and Glenn (Deb) Milford, as well as numerous grand, great and great great grandchildren. Elizabeth was born at Stoughton, August 10, 1914 to Isabella and William Thompson. There were 14 children in the Thompson-Baillie family. Leo LaValley of Stoughton is the only one living of that generation. Elizabeth and David farmed in the Froude district for many years. They later moved to Stoughton where she worked in the nursing home. Lizzy and Davie later moved to Carstairs, Alberta. Elizabeth enjoyed every day of her long life and was blessed with a wonderful memory of each and every one of her family and friends. She loved company and everyone loved to visit her enjoying card games and peppermints. Lizzy was also a good traveller and took many road trips with her sons and daughters. Her family laid her to rest beside her beloved David on January 6th, in the cemetery of Carstairs, Alberta.
A Mother’s Love
A Mother’s love is something
that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
And of sacrifices and pain.
It is endless and unselfish
And enduring come what may,
For nothing can destroy it
Or take that love away
