Elsie May Bouchard

Elsie May Bouchard late of Weyburn, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at the age of 89 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Edwin and Emily Mae  Erickson; husband, Herman Joseph Bouchard; son, Gerald Bouchard; daughter, Loretta Bouchard; grandsons, Curtis and Will Bouchard and brother, Fred Erickson. Elsie was born on March 26, 1928 and was raised in Torquay. On November 25, 1946 she married the love of her life, Herman Bouchard and they started to build their family. Elsie was a homemaker and enjoyed baking, gardening, knitting and crocheting. Her world revolved around caring for her husband and children. They lived in Torquay from 1946 to 1970 at which time they moved to Weyburn. Elsie got a part time job at Mount St. Mary’s as an aide and later at the Special Care Home. She loved her job and working with the elderly. Elsie enjoyed playing cards with family and friends as well as teaching her grandchildren how to play cribbage and other games. She was so proud of their accomplishments. Elsie spent many happy hours at the Wheatland Senior Centre, socializing and playing cards. She spent close to four years in the Special Care Home and continued to play crib with her sister, Ellen every week. Herman and Elsie also enjoyed travelling and went on several cruises as well as trips through the USA and Canada to visit friends and family. Elsie will be lovingly remembered by her children: Elaine (Dan) Morrissette of Oungre, Mindie (Brian) Giddens of Kamloops, BC, Tony (Carol) Bouchard of Last Mountain Lake, Perry (Darlene) Bouchard of Calgary, AB, Murray (Joni) Bouchard of Red Wood Meadows, AB and Lorie (David) Sweigard of Regina; grandchildren: Corey (Laura), Carlee (Dallas), Cody (Amanda), Jami, Natasha, Josh (Rayel), Chris (Kaylee), Tannis (Nathan), Brandon (Brittany), Ashley, Justin (Amy), Ben, Jasper and Jada (Mike); great grandchildren: Natalie, Jenna, Brody, Taelynn, Drake, Nolan, Allison, Evan, Benjamin, Max, Gemma, Tamara, Owen, Aiden, Ethan, Wyatt, Lane, Carter and Luke; sisters, Ellen Eddy, Ruth Whatley, Mabel Bouchard and Marion (Bruce) Doak as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Service of Remembrance will be held Wednesday June 14, from Fletcher Funeral Chapel, with Father Francis Plaparampil celebrating. A Private Family Interment was held at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn.
