Evelyn Maurine Beare (nee Treble)

Evelyn Maurine Beare (nee Treble) formerly of Fillmore passed away at Tatagwa View, Weyburn, on March 8, 2012 at the age of 98 years. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Garry) Procknow, of Stoughton and her son, Brian Beare, of Fillmore; her grandchildren, Kyla (Marty) Krushelniski and their daughter, Makayla, of Macklin, Michelle (Zach) Stevens and their son, Jude, of Kelowna, BC and Darren Procknow (Krystle Osorio) of Pasqua Lake; her sisters-in-law, May Treble and Jean Treble of Regina, Enid (Leroy) Stewart-Dammann, of Stoughton; brother-in-law, Ivan (Leona) Beare of Fillmore as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alvin, of 65 years on February 15, 2010; all her siblings, Gordon, Earle, Orville (June), Toots (Dunny) Dunlop; her brothers-in-law, Garfield Beare and Alex Stewart; and her nephew, Wyman (Wendy) Treble.Evelyn was born on October 2, 1913 and grew up on the farm north of Fillmore, attended Downing school and obtained her Grade 12 in Fillmore. She married Alvin on July 29, 1944 and they farmed together in the Freewill district northeast of Fillmore where they raised their two children. They retired to Fillmore in 1972 and then with failing health to Weyburn Parkway Lodge in April of 2009. Evelyn loved to sew, knit, crochet and quilt and continued to do so until well into her 90's. For $2 you could get pants hemmed or anything altered. She loved to plant a garden and can tomatoes. Her three grandchildren were her pride and joy. Together with Alvin they attended all the kids' ball, hockey and curling games, band concerts and graduations. They loved to dance and made many trips to Danceland at Watrous. They loved their community of Fillmore and participated in as many events as they could. Because they enjoyed such good health for many years they delivered meals on wheels to residents much younger than themselves. In her younger years Evelyn belonged to the UCW and Hospital Auxillary. She loved her sports and followed the Blue Jays, Roughriders and curling on TV. We will all miss her dearly but have many quilts, afghans and needlepoint pictures to remember her by. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place at the Fillmore Cemetery later this spring. Donations in memory of Evelyn may be made to a charity of donor's choice.
